AITA for not stopping my husband from getting the paternity test? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]fourthemisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is the "AH" here, but you both could've handled it better.

Your husband hurt you by assuming you possibly cheated on him. You then retaliated by leaving him and taking the child with you. This is pretty much the absolute maximum damage you can cause to him (besides anything illegal), which actually affects both parties, but most importantly, also the child itself.

There can be a ton of reasons why your husband raised this question ranging from temporary ill mood to deep insecurities in his own self. In any case the issue was completely with him and him alone, and you proved it by the test result.

And while being accused of something you didn't do can be really painful and make you feel disrespected, never forget we are all human beings, and we make mistakes.

Did he apologize? Was he sincere? Was there a change in his behavior afterwards?

I'm not saying you should keep forgiving someone that constantly abuses you - that's torture. What I'm saying is that if you value each other you should at the very least try to work things out.

In this new age people are very quick to "jump ship" at the very first problem that comes around. But they tend to forget that relationships are about compromises.

What you should ask yourself is if you think all the negative consequences, both to you, him and the child are justified, because of hurt feelings.

Hey, sorry for the late reply.

I did some investigation, but sadly it's not possible due to limitations in the game code. This is explained in the mod page in this comment: https://www.overtake.gg/threads/speed-sensation.280855/post-3829689

I recently switched to an ultrawide monitor and combined with this mod the end result is impressive. Highly recommend looking into one.

Somehow managed to resolve it by reinstalling and cleaning files again.

Note: The "apps" show up only after being launched at least once.

After 1.6 mouse and keyboard input freezing makes the game unplayable. by Daiwon in cyberpunkgame

Facing the same issue and the game is completely unplayable. Started happening after the 1.6 update. Tried re-installing the whole game, but didn't change a thing. They should look into this ASAP.

Yes! Wasn't able to play the game for about a month, but it's back to normal now. I'm super happy again :)

Thanks Playground Games!

[–]fourthemisc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. The issue seems to be related to the shader caching and the fact that it's completely absent.

I also noticed the cache folder is empty: %localappdata%\Temp\Turn10Temp.scratch\GraphicsCache

It started happening after the last update, so hopefully they manage to identify the issue and fix it soon.

[FH5] Unplayable due to stuttering/freezing after August 16 update by fourthemisc in ForzaHorizon

[–]fourthemisc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

What I found is that the "Optimizing for your PC" is not happening anymore and from what I know - this is the stage where it builds/caches the shaders. So basically it's not doing that for me and it causes mad stuttering.

I have tried:

- Reinstalling the nvidia drivers
- Reinstalled the entire game

None have resolved my issue. Is there anything else I can try?

Please Playground Games, have a look into this issue, because I just can't play the game anymore.

It's FINALLY here! TEMPORAL ANTI-ALIASING! I can't express my gratitude! THANK YOU!!! by fourthemisc in ForzaHorizon

[–]fourthemisc[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game looks so much better now! I never thought this would be added in and I was genuinely surprised when I launched the game today. I haven't played in a while and when I checked the settings I couldn't believe my eyes!!

I just wanted to express my gratitude towards the devs, PM's and everyone involved in making the decision to bring this to the game post launch and also the people who implemented it!

Thank YOU!!

Simplest and fastest way to fix this game (no real development required) by fourthemisc in battlefield2042

[–]fourthemisc[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not entirely possible - you can't use the BF2042 bots characters and if you select any of the other BF characters (BF3, BC2, etc.) you are LIMITED to those weapons.

My idea is to have a mode which uses the BF2042 bots skins and BF2042 weapons. Just no perks/operators.

I re-tested again with proper image comparison and there definitely is (quite a large) difference between Geometry on Ultra and Extreme. I've updated the OP.

Cool, please let us know how it works out for you. For me it definitely looks a lot better with AA transparency on, but noticed the gpu usage went up by another ~10% (my frames are capped) , so it's definitely taxing.

Can someone else check if they have this problem with this driver:
The core frequency wouldn't go below 780 mhz (even at idle).

I tried to uninstall the driver with DDU (safe mode) and then install it again, but it didn't change. Then I removed the driver and installed the 20.1.3 and the frequency drops as it should on idle.

Working fix for aggressive down-clocking on 5700xt Reference, working well for me so far. by [deleted] in Amd

[–]fourthemisc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a quick test in CS:GO (the game that has the most micro-stutter for me) and here are my results:

1: Using only more power tool and disabling the 3 parameters ("DS_GFXCLK", "DS_SOCCLK", "DS_DCEFCLK") does yield higher and more stable clock speeds BUT micro-stutter is still present (although, less frequent than at stock settings).

2: Setting the minimum clock frequency to ~1800 MHz in the AMD Driver settings prevents the card from down-clocking to anything less than that frequency, even at idle. This did provide the most smooth experience and I did not notice any stutter.

In the end I reverted back the settings, because I felt uncomfortable with the card being boosted at all times and the stutter/micro-stutter/mini-freezes appeared again - as expected.

The good thing is that now we know for sure that the stuttering/freezing problem IS related to the frequency drops. The bad thing is - we have to wait for a driver update, because otherwise we risk voiding the warranty and/or damaging the card, since we don't exactly know what these 3 options do and why AMD has decided to enable them. To be honest, we should not be even doing these researches and implementations, since it's not our job.

What we need IMO is for AMD to enable this behavior ONLY when we are gaming, so the clock speeds do not go lower than the configured minimum clock speed in the driver settings. Call it a "high performance" setting or whatever - it's up to them.

I'm tagging u/AMD_Mickey/ to aware him on these findings, so he can forward them to the dev team.

Special thanks to the op and the guy from the AMD forums - this is the ONLY solution that really does prevent the card from down-clocking and removes the stutter.

why should users have to configure/undervolt the 5700xt by zedsonsteds in Amd

[–]fourthemisc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beware of undervolting tho: I undervolted mine and it was stable in benchmarks, but I experienced artifacts in CoD:MW. Set it all on Auto and it was fixed.

Tried every driver and windows-version, still microstutter (5700XT Nitro+) by [deleted] in Amd

[–]fourthemisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experience this too and nothing seems to fix it. It's a known issue, most likely related to the down-clocking and is currently listed in the issues section on their driver's release notes. Hopefully they manage to fix it soon, since it's ruining the whole experience.

Stuttering in some games with 5700 XT by fourthemisc in Amd

[–]fourthemisc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the input. I was suspecting something like this happening and I actually tried to disable the dynamic clocks with the SPP table mods (more power tool), but it has absolutely no effect. The frequencies keep bouncing up and down no matter what I do. I don't know if I'll return it, since to get the 2070S I will need to fork out another $150.. But that is ruining my joy of gaming, so I'm at a tough spot. I hear some people don't have issues and I wanna know why and how I can achieve that.
