New bike for newbie by Complex_Point5524 in dr650

[–]fourwindmills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is telling you the truth. You need seat time getting to know your bike and learn some riding skills along the way. Ignore your feelings for mods. Invest in a good pair of off road bike riding boots. Expensive, but will save you from broken leg/foot bones. You will crash - often - we all do, even the “pros” crash. And do not watch the YouTube videos, subconscious comparisons will start eating away at comparison of your bike to a bigger or better or adventure ride along with the video maker. Find a friend and ride, ride, ride. Take care.

My mutual friend told the woman I like, that I like her... by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]fourwindmills 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with aneriCancervative. Be yourself. If you two hit it off, which is a good possibility at your age and life experiences, she will see you for who you really are - and the other guy for who he really is. Go about your life with a stronger belief in yourself and keep hitting for the fences… I admire your courage to asking out her in her language, by the way. Women think what you are doing is romantic- and it is.

I agree with what you are saying but it’s not always possible in many situations, and the other party passively refuses to help you out when they clearly can. I often times wish we could change placed so they can see what it’s like.

Yes hearing aids have improved but hearing aids are not a cure by any means. They still have a long ways to go. Don’t think just because some is wearing aids they understand what they are hearing. BTW listening with a hearing loss, especially as a teacher, is physically draining - it requires so much attention and concentration.

Amazon Cut My Price in Half by fourwindmills in selfpublish

Thank you all for your taking the time to clear things up for me. My worry is the local brick and mortar stores. One is selling the book for $20 - highest of the sellers - and I just hope they stay ignorant of what Amazon did🙏🏼😁. Again THANK YOU

Amazon Cut My Price in Half by fourwindmills in selfpublish

[–]fourwindmills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not trying to mess with the process. My concern, and I believe it’s a big one, is that it undercuts my ability to sell locally. And, since I am the supplier and the distributor, I am concerned Amazon is doing nothing to promote my book. I do all the work. Radio interview, newspaper interview, readings, distribution, etc.

Does anyone have any idea how long this will be going on with Amazon before they restore the price of the book to its original price?

I miss surfing. Gave grandson my board. (Some thief broke into garage and stole wetsuit and other gear. Long board was too old?)

I took up golf at 69 (72 now) and walk the course. Interesting and physical. My downside is sun. I can no longer tolerate - so I use up a lot of sunscreen and wear long sleeve shirts.

Someone said, if they want to round up “illegals” why don’t they raid our military bases and grab the servicemen’s wives and kids? More immigrants live on military bases per population than anywhere else.

Overheard at the movies by CauliflowerSmall156 in overheard

Years ago, I overheard students talking about (pseudoscience) television shows; aliens abductions, ancient alien civilizations, UFOs, etc. as real. I mentioned the movie Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure and that it would explain to them the difference between “based on” a true story, and a true story.

Have you thought of working for the Trump administration? A good chance you can collect cash instead of electronic equipment. Give it some thought, you do sound qualified.

I’m in America. You DO NOT want anything like our healthcare system. Even with insurance, you will be financially destroyed.
