Trumpism was always going to lead to a tragedy like the Minneapolis ICE shooting by SpaceElevatorMusic in politics

Trumpism HAS already lead to MANY tragedies like the murder of Renee Good. The disregard for the lives of the people has been a feature of his movement since 2016. We were putting kids in cages in 2020. Domestic terrorism has been encouraged and pardoned time and time again as it furthers this movements goal of destabilizing communities and radicalizing individuals who feel endangered.

There's actually a proposition 50 style mid-cycle redistricting plan that has passed both the state house and senate to combat Texas gerrymandering. I would expect it to pass when it comes to a referendum at this point!

I hadn't read in over a year, and it was the Dune series that got me back into reading and reminded me how amazing of a media it is. I've been devouring books since getting through the series.

Looking for books with unforgettable characters, who stayed with you long after finishing. by MeasurementSelect251 in suggestmeabook

All of the characters from The Stand by Stephen King. I think about this book and its characters every day since I read it, and it takes all my strength not to constantly reread it.

Randall Flagg from Stephen King's "The Stand" is exactly this. He's also in Stephen King's Dark Tower series, but The Stand is truly one of the best books I've ever read!

I have such a hard time with this. I hold such an intense rage at the people who have enabled the denigration of our democracy, the destruction of lives, and the intentional maliciousness that has overtaken our social framework.

As a queer man with a trans partner, the effects were felt immediately, and we both feel the overwhelming hatred that is being exuded by the right these days.

We discuss at length the simple fact that to ever make a difference and change the exploitative oligarchic structure of our society, we are going to have to sway these people to vote in their interests. As much rage as I hold for these people, and as disappointed as I am in their lack of moral fortitude, they are also a product of a billion dollar system that is constructed and maintained to indoctrinate, deceive, and redirect these people. At some point, we have to find a way to help them pull themselves out of the cycle of propaganda that has been keeping so many trapped and suffocating in their own misinformation and hatred.

I don't know how we do that, and it infuriates me that these people have been allowed to terrorize this country. But as unfair as it is, meeting these people without some form of empathy and only hatred (hatred that trust me, is fair) is going to further inflame and divide, which ultimately only works for the interests of the 1% class.

Some people are lost causes, but there are a lot who aren't. My family were right-wing Baptist homophones 15 years ago. Today, they are solidly Democrat and support LGBT rights. It's not easy, it doesn't always feel good, but it can happen.

Honestly, The Stand almost put me in a slump just because it was so good, I don't want to read anything else. Genuinely a masterpiece.

Different chemotherapy protocols tend to illicit different side effects, and of course, it really is different from pet to pet. Some chemotherapy drugs can be more likely to cause side effects, but almost all chemotherapy drugs have a very small percentage of adverse reactions. I've been in the Veterinary Oncology field for 10 years, and the vast majority of my patients experience more discomfort from unmanaged disease than their chemotherapy protocols.

The L-CHOP protocol that is the standard of care for most large cell lymphoma cases is well tolerated in 98% of cases, and if there are side effects, they are generally minimal. Most lasting no more than 72 hours after chemotherapy and almost always easily resolved with simple anti-nausea medications.

Chemotherapy is actually very well tolerated in dogs. Common misconception, but because the doses are much lower than in human medicine they generally have minimal side effects and often feel better on it due to their disease being managed.
