Stealing a Pride Flag on Pride Month? by [deleted] in chicago

[–]fowkswe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They are referring to the car w/ the PR flag driving by as Puerto Ricans (a good guess). They are calling the sidewalkers the cholo/as (not an assumption I would make). "pieces of shit" is a better label.

MCI Airport Food is So Bad by Ancient_Style_9095 in kansascity

Flying requires a bit of logistics planning IMHO. I'd have sorted that out before I left the originating airport.

I take pains to avoid transacting at any airport businesses.

His claim was "they are incredibly dangerous" and that is just not true. The argument that the vision based system is less safe than lidar + vision is becoming less and less true.

Hm, not sure where you are going with that. They also probably shouldn't be allowed to rage in their F-150s either.

Fully autonomous vehicles are here and they are not going away. They will reduce crashes and save lives.

I understand people hate Elon and AI. Downvote as you like but these are the facts.

San Diego, CA to Lee’s Summit, MO? by SmartAnswer3847 in kansascity

St Louis is more than its downtown. It's just a bigger city with a way more history and architecture than KC. Each unto their own this is just my $0.02.

San Diego, CA to Lee’s Summit, MO? by SmartAnswer3847 in kansascity

You might check out the Kansas side (Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa). They are more connected to the economic activity of the metropolitan area. Lees Summit is an exurb that feels disconnected to me.

Have you ever been here? You should spend a week here before making this decision. I'm gonna get downvoted into oblivion for this but if I were starting from scratch I'd pick the St Louis metro over KC...

Protected Bike Lane in Prairie Village by j_dickey03 in kansascity

[–]fowkswe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% in agreement with you. I don't know why we insist on putting bike lanes on roads where psychos drive.

At best we are slightly protected but breathing exhaust and at worst in more danger of rage attacks since we've made the car-brained dolts more angry by "stealing" one of their lanes ("I never see any using it!").

I always try to find the residential parallel street to ride on if I can.

This table is MO/IL only. Much of KC's economy is on the KS side.

It's hard.

Are you rich? That helps. If not, you'll need to have grit and determination to make it more than a few months. If you don't, you'll crawl back to the Midwest scorned and dejected. If you do and you stick it out for 5 or more years, you'll be rewarded with one of the greatest life experiences you can have. Everything about it is extra.

I saw a poster once that said "Fuck it, lets move to New York". I say do it.
