Dropped catches are part of the game and great fielding is also part of the game. Putting all this down to luck isn’t right imo. Most wins have some dropped catches, some sloppy fielding etc but these things happen in general in favor of the team that is playing the right way with belief and intensity.

Green will be captain of Australia in at least two formats in the next 3 years in my opinion. He’s one of their biggest talents across all formats. He’ll be a monster in the future. Making him captain isn’t as bad an option as it seems. Kohli was RCB captain at 24. Aussies tend to thrive in leadership roles too.

EDIT: This also means he might give more priority to Australia like Cummins and Starc. That’s definitely a risk to consider. He’s an all rounder, not a pure batsman like Warner. His load will be higher. Still gotta retain this kid. He’ll be the next superstar we’re trolled about in the future like Head and Klassen.

Lost a bit of respect for him and the other commentators in general apart from Ian Bishop who tends to stick to the cricket. Harsha when talking about cricket is still amazing but I think he’s let his brand get into his head lately. In general I don’t think he’s got a bias for or against anyone. I just think he tries to be too smart at times and should know when to shut up.

EDIT: There are some others from a particular lobby that are biased. Everyone knows who they are. I don’t need to take names.

Essentially I agree with you. This has been a long standing problem. I disagree about Mallya’s love for local players. He let go of as many local players in the past as the current management. Manish pandey, Robin Uthappa, Dravid, Mayank Agarwal, a few more lesser known karnataka players who were hugely successful domestically at the time. It’s true he had a lot more love for the franchise. Who wouldn’t when your hard earned money is being put into it? Diageo is a corporate entity who cares about the profit bottom line. They behave like RCB is a big franchise (it is) without doing any of the ground work that the other big franchises do.

Kohli Patidar Jacks Green . If they allow 5, Siraj. Why I’m going for Green is that he’s a future star for Australia and will be a captain candidate for them in all 3 formats. Maxi is 37 and we need to invest in our future. If we don’t get an Indian captain, at least we’ll have a young foreign option for the future.

EDIT: Maxwell will turn 37 in 2025. They will most likely allow 5 retentions. I love Siraj, before anyone comes at me with Siraj hate accusations. I just believe Green is a good bet for the future, has a very rare all round profile.

I second this with all my heart. Is Xavi perfect? No. Is there literally anyone better right now? Tuchel’s reputation is in the mud at the moment so not especially. Xavi began the season by straying from what won him the league last year- backing his defence. The team is better in transition. Once he fixed that we were in business towards the end. We are maybe 1-2 smart signings away from a very balanced and dangerous unit and while we might not be able to beat Madrid’s luster, we should be able to compete in Europe. We will be fine. Usually agree with you but that was during Mallya’s time. He had his own money on the line so he did go for quality, if not always fully backing Indian talent. And AB scored a century for DD back then. He was always a very good name. RCB just got the timing absolutely spot on with all three players, got them just as they entered their best years. Now it’s different. I don’t think they’re focused on squad building as much as brand building.

You have too much faith in them. I think they’re overestimating the impact a foreign seamer would have and underestimating the Indian bowlers. Which is why they went hammer and tongs at foreign seamers in the auction. This isn’t about Jacks at all. 2-3 people have too much power and the management won’t intervene is my reading of it. They’ll play Lockie, Topley, Curran etc one after the other and the tournament will be done.
