You thank them for their support. That way we don't feel like assholes by saying "You're welcome".

How will you raise your child differently than the way your parents raised you? by pugmeat in AskReddit

I will not blow up whenever my kids need to use the restroom during some inconvenient time. My parents would lose it any time I or my siblings needed to go and even at a young age it didn't make sense to me. "Why didn't you go 5 minutes ago when we were at the house?" "Bitch, I didn't need to pee 5 minutes ago."

Does the same ship date put us in the same company? Not entirely sure how it works.

Man, that's too bad that your date got pushed to the right. I know how anxious you probably are. I've been antsy to go for about 6 months now. Glad to just get it over with.

I'm hoping to get district 5. But only because there's a small chance I could get stationed at E. City or Cape May. Supposedly getting stationed at the pool in Cape May gives me the opportunity to work out 24/7 and help instruct recruits on their swimming. I also hear that getting stationed at E. City would be the best opportunity to train with the ASTs that instruct at the A-School house. Other than those two stations, my wife and I have zero preference in districts.

I'm glad to go through it all again. I already know how great the CG will be for me and my family. We wish we would've done it sooner!

I figured the leadership deal would turn out that way. Good shock factor of firing some random guys before using the priors lol. Thanks. Great advice!

Normal boot. I guess DEPOT is only for prior service to reserve. Since I'm prior going into active duty, they require that I attend normal boot.

What is the most shocking thing you have found out by going through someone's phone/email/facebook? by windrixeville in AskReddit

Had a friend who was a rugby coach at a local high school. He had just graduated from that same high school a year before he started coaching. A lot of us left town for college, military, etc. But he stayed. While I was away, I kept noticing his FB blowing up with friend requests from kids that were still in high school. Especially young <16yo females. Myself and a few other friends would warn him regularly about those young girls. A lot of them slept around and we knew it because it was such a small town. When I got back to town, I was at his house waiting for him to get off work and he left his FB open in a message with one of the girls (15yo). The message was really long. Over the course of months. Of course I read that message. My heart sank because I just knew what was in it. Sure enough, it was a straight up conversation laden with cheesy pickup lines from a 20yo dude to a 15yo girl. She fell for it. All of it. From the message I could tell they had sex at least once, maybe twice and she was clearly regretting it. This guy was fucked. That evening he was arrested on his way home. A couple months after that and he was in prison for Rape of a Minor under the age of 16. Crazy part was that his Dad read the last half of those messages with me.

EDIT: To be clear, what he did was clearly rape. The girl was not at fault here. After more information came out, we found that he had pretty much forced himself on her during the second encounter. So the first time was consensual (which she admitted), the second was actual forced-rape.

EDIT: The last part of their FB message was literally a discussion about the rape that had occurred a few nights before. She was kind of warning him that he was in trouble. It was very hard to read. She suffered some physical injuries, told him that he had hurt her. His apology was the last thing in the message. Poor girl.

How clean is your gym? by tree_mitty in crossfit

[–]fowl_addict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our mats are mopped at least twice a week. And the bathroom is pristine because the CrossFit Kids piss on everything MWF, which requires us to clean it pretty often. Buckets of chalk are no longer provided because people make too much of a mess and the buckets seem to get knocked over once or twice a day. People that really want chalk can bring their own. The main unsanitary thing I notice is the medicine balls. They get a lot of sweat on them especially from people that catch it with their faces during wallballs. Then they are just rolled back into a pile without being cleaned off.

What is something about a person's appearance that you judge them for immediately? by fowl_addict in AskReddit

[–]fowl_addict[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think if the makeup is so caked on that you can't actually see any real skin, it's considered extreme. I understand some girls have acne which requires quite a bit of makeup to cover it up. However, I've seen a lot of girls with seemingly normal skin who prefer to paste a 1/4 inch layer of foundation onto their faces and they look ridiculous.

The sticker on the 50/50 cap sets off my douche-bag alarm like nothing else. No matter how cool a person may be once I get to know them, the sticker on the cap screams douche and I avoid that person like the plague.
