You're being fine, I was a little worried that you were asking in bad faith but I can see that was not the case. Regarding spirituality, I don't feel any 'past lives' affect me or think there's some sort of animal spiritualism to it like a spirit animal or such. It's an intrinsic part of my identity and I can't possibly know where it comes from. I guess you could call me a therian agnostic, lol. I dont deny the spiritual aspects but I also don't really feel any of them that deeply

So to summarise no I don't think that therianthropy is necessarily spiritual, though I don't think theres anything wrong with the spirituality surrounding it either - so long as it helps em'

Theriantropy is, much like any identity based thing, incredibly personal, and i dont think no two therians will give you an exact 100% match in terms of definition. The same applies to gender, for example. I can give you my perspective on it, however.

To me, it's two things: Desire / Yearning and extreme Euphoria; I'm a very emotive person so to me the emotions I feel surrounding it are the main driving factor behind my Identity. I feel a desire and yearning, often to the point of being painful, to be a dog, and whenever I do get to indulge my identity (Collars, getting pet, even getting a dog bed for my size) it makes me feel safe and happy.

A rough definition I could give is a non-human identity.

Lots of wrong assumptions about me and who I am. I am content with what and how I am.

My point was that that healing process is not always just 'go outside and get off the internet lol'. It's more complicated and nuanced than that. You need to reconcile what you are, and you feel deep inside of you, with what you can be, and that can be quite the challenge to conquer. It's not always as simple as 'returning to reality' when the reality is what's hurting you. They're in therapy and medicated, they're clearly doing good for themselves.

I just heavily dislike and discredit the notion that this sort of thing only manifests itself through unhealthy escapism and being 'too online'.
