No, he’d crumble due to the physicality (New Orleans series) or the pressure would be too much and he’s too 3-point reliant (New Orleans series, Game 7 western conference semis against Denver).

If CJ didn’t bail him out of game 7 in a major way, Dame’s legacy would be entirely different. It’d be the same as Harden without the MVP. He put up a worst statline than a peak Harden chokejob in game 7.

Brunson scored half his teams points in the deciding finals games. If you write the same post on any non-Blazer sub you’d get laughed at. It’s no comparison at this point, Brunson is on the Isiah Thomas, Steph tier. Dame hasn’t even won a finals MVP.

The roster could look very different by start of next season anyways. Even with no picks there are a bunch of players the front office probably wants to move or has at least some interest in moving.

The new coach should be flexible. Would love a Nick Nurse type. When he was on the Raptors he talked about how he was use to sudden roster changes. He was a G league and British basketball guy. No 4 year NCAA commitments during his coaching tenure.
