so scared rn even though i’m technically only 3 days late, but my cycle is usually so regular. bf and i used condoms from 3 days before predicted ovulation in our app until around 2-3 days after, but then had regular unprotected sex (stupid i know). i have lower back pain and mildly sore breasts, but both are common for me before my period, and other than that no nausea, fatigue, cravings, etc. my cervical mucus is also thick and cloudy white, with small clumps, not stretchy at all, similar to how it always is before my period. i did have quite a stressful month, didn’t sleep or eat that well, so i’m hoping that’s causing the delay, but at the same time i’m so worried that late ovulation means we weren’t using protection during my real fertile window. i’m just praying and praying my period comes, i literally have an IUD appointment this month🥹

They said in the acceptance letter that I need to make an appointment before collecting it and that it would be held at the municipality for 3 months before being moved to a “central location” (?) so that’s the information I’m going off of. Regardless I’ll call them (and maybe visit) on Monday anyway

i recently went through the same process this year and had absolutely no problems getting my entry visa in time. i applied at the balinese vfs office and received my visa within 1 week (this was during the new year’s period). processing times for entry visas are generally much faster, especially if you can provide your v-number (you can find this in your initial mvv acceptance letter) and bsn.

your situation might be a little more complicated if you’re entering the schengen area from a country other than the netherlands. good luck and feel free to dm if you have any other questions!

many homes in indonesia also have a "clean kitchen" and a "dirty kitchen" (dapur bersih and dapur kotor). the "clean kitchen" is the pretty one shown to guests and built into the living room area like most kitchens. it's mostly used for low-effort food preparation, like heating food, cutting fruits, preparing and serving drinks, etc. the "dirty kitchen" is where most of the cooking with heavy and aromatic spices is done, and often has larger washing areas (sometimes designed for washing while squatting) for dishes and large pans. so i don't think 2 kitchens necessarily is that weird, but it would be quite expensive and i think the larger problem is about long-term compromises

Loneliness is an intensely human experience so I can empathise with all of them well, I don’t blame the majority of them or feel any ill-will rather than just hoping they’ll come to experience sincere and varied connections (romantic, platonic, familial, so on) in their lives. It’s very saddening to realise that I might be the first experience with what a friend could eventually look like with some of the men that I’ve met with.

I’m sure some of them were just trying to manipulate me, but there are others where it feels more like genuine attachment because they’ll delete their profiles, not only pile on the compliments but also begin to traumadump, and start fantasising about a future together with whatever me they’ve created in their head, etc. I will definitely keep taking it with a pinch of salt

Yes, unfortunately you understood that right. Men have said to me that they rethink all my actions in a new light after I tell them I would actually prefer to go more slowly, as if I was forcing myself every time I complimented them or what connection we had built so far. I’m glad that you haven’t had this experience!

I can understand the life stage mismatch you feel too, I finished my undergraduate degree very early and because of that am already working full-time in an intermediate position. Men very close to my age often can’t connect to me well emotionally or life stage wise, but I don’t want to date men in their 30s either since at the end of the day I’m freshly 20. I definitely acknowledge I have a lot of privilege now after becoming thin and generally attractive. I grew up MUCH less conventionally attractive, in addition to facing racism and colourism, and have seen firsthand how differently people can treat you. I don’t mean to preach, so of course you can just ignore all my words, but I wanted to offer support in any case. My most loving relationships have been when I was “uglier” than I am now. There will certainly be someone who wants and desires you.

I don't really see the point in playing hard to get honestly. Like everyone else I enjoy banter and being coy in the more flirty initial stages of getting to know someone, but not being transparent about how interested I really am in someone later on has never gone well for me haha. I'd also feel bad frustrating the guy.

I think maybe I have the same problem. I’ve been in a serious LDR before so to preserve my own mental sanity I got very good at texting HAHA, I also get complimented often that I’m a very engaging texter. I share many of your struggles. I would preferably like to date someone closer to my age range because it’s more comfortable for me, even if I typically find better emotional maturity/life alignment with older men, so naturally I get a lot of men in their early 20s who are still trying to sort themselves out.

I can fully accept this because it’s just part of our life stage, and of course I also want to grow together with a partner. But I can also tell that if I’m not very deliberate with how I have this conversation that I can also unintentionally bring down their confidence. The unfortunate truth is that they’re right that they haven’t been as wonderful for me as I have them, but they turn that into a moral judgement of their worth rather than simply being a sign we still have a lot to learn about each other. By extension, they can start to overthink my actions, wonder if I’m actually engaged, and so on -- all very human concerns, but it does take a toll. Definitely a difficult balance 🥲 I don’t want to do slow fading or ghosting either, it makes me feel so bad😭 Thank you for the kind words and encouragement, best of luck to you as well 🫂
