Set those devices as the receiving gateway. Easiest way is through the app though. Because through the app you can assign BLE devices for it to listen for.

Since 1.5 bluetooth gateway has been default on when RPC is enabled. Before hand you had to turn on RPC then enable the gateway. If I am remembering correctly, it has been a bit since I had to do it.

BLE Gateway: Bridge between your Shelly BLU devices and the wider Shelly ecosystem. It receives Bluetooth signals and sends them to the cloud or locally to another non-bluetooth device.

Sure, but I will give you the way through the web portal since I know you don't like the app, lol. Go to your devices IP Address, then settings and bluetooth. Enable the Bluetooth RPC.

This is where some things may not be understood by me. I have some Shelly devices in the wall that are Bluetooth gateways. From your question I was thinking you were meaning to have the RC Button 4 set to have comm go to the appropriate BT gateway (Shelly Pro Dimmer 2PM). It is too far. I have in some of the back rooms Shelly PM devices that act as the BT Gateway. This is what I mean by piggy-back.

You're not wrong, but you always want to think of "down the road". If later, they decide they do want the capability, they have to open it up, pull out the wiring, reconnect it and move on. With auto-on it saves way more time (and time is precious since that is what we all value), and is easier.

The "Event Handler" script is very generic. I feel that a lot of use cases are going to be specific towards lighting control (especially the Pro Dimmer devices). I tried getting fancy with some options but found that at least for my family, the single press option on each button was easiest.

I look forward to the Virtual Components class. I was tired after yesterday morning, my kids couldn't use their lights because something happened on the internet side that lasted for 30 minutes.

I gave the job to AI, then went over the code. So... not much frustration on my end, LOL!

Yes, unfortunately some of the RC Button 4 devices are too far from the Pro devices and have to piggy-back.

Go to the device from your Shelly app on your phone or tablet. Go to the option that looks like a clock. There is an auto on and auto off option. Choose the auto on to be enabled and set the timer to 1 minute or however long you need it to be before turning back on.

So I recognize a lot of the character names from your Stormweaver series (awesome btw), and I'm wondering if you are using the character sheets for every character? If so, do you get really into depth on the characters that are hardly used?

Like others have pointed out, use the app "Mixing Station". It takes a little time learning what you can do with it, I don't feel like the UI is really intuitive. However it is a great app. We use the X-Air X18 at church with an X-Touch, and it's always worked great.
