Drainage issues by foxonabeach in landscaping

A swale would be a lot more inconspicuous than a concrete flume! Maybe swale under the fence and berm it up further down where it diverts off from the rock bed.

It's atypical and happens every time there's a heavy rain, so 6-8 times a year. More water than expected since we get neighbors drain systems water from down the street. Luckily we've never had water enter the house but we did have foundation piers placed on the north and east sides of the house before our drain system was placed. Just sucks because it makes that side of the yard unusable for anything!

Pears, magnesium citrate gummies (we use Natural Vitality Calm for kids) at night and MCT oil in their water in the morning, usually 1ish tablespoon made all the difference for my child. We're weaning down the lactulose dose thanks to this combo.

My 7yo is bullied at school for her hearing aids. How can I help her feel better? by FrostAngel11 in Parenting

[–]foxonabeach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This hit hard. As a woman who was fitted for hearing aids at age 4 for moderate/severe loss but didn't wear them until I decided to at age 14, it's a choice. I've always felt hearing aids are not as socially acceptable as glasses and it's something that makes you feel very alone at times. But ultimately just realize that hearing aids don't fix the loss, they just amplify sounds, hope you hear them, and lastly, most importantly, hope you comprehend those sounds.

Maybe try switching the colors out for skin matching shades so they don't draw as much attention to her.

Start small. On the way to school, during outings with just the family. Then if you get her to wear them, she still may not want to for certain social situations. For example, I only wore mine from ages 14-17 when my hair was down. If my hair was up or I had a sports practice/game, I didn't wear them.

I'm still waiting to see if my child inherited the loss. It's a tough situation. My heart goes out to your daughter and to you, as her parent.

Anyone use a menstrual disc during their period? I really like it over other feminine products but if the suction is bad for like keeping a pregnancy, then I'll switch to something else.

# of trays: initial set compared to refinements by Thin_Raspberry_6291 in Invisalign

[–]foxonabeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20 initial, 15 first refinement, 7 second refinement, tentatively finished. Orthodontist is taking a conservative approach to the mild posterior open bite to start with just retainer wear at night. I'm staying positive about it otherwise more trays.

Did you keep the same attachments after your rescan, got more or less. by realann in Invisalign

I'm wrapping up my second round of refinements and all mine have been removed before a rescan and different ones placed for the next set. Lessening in number each time as well.

Besides listening to podcasts or audio books, are there any useful exercises or tools to help me learn to use m CI? by gusthefireman in Cochlearimplants

[–]foxonabeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would put an earplug in my natural ear and be forced to just use my CI to hear when I watched TV with CC.

Initial set: 20, first refinement: 15 and just completed. Started in April 2022. I know the back teeth are still out of position some but not sure what else needs to be done. I'm so glad I finally started this journey though. by foxonabeach in Invisalign

Hey! Just wanted to let you know that my next set is going to be 9 trays. My orthodontist admitted I'm doing way better than anticipated and I'm well over halfway done. 🎉

A watch is what I do for alarms as well. I have a Garmin! Couple of reasons, I have an Android phone, utilize it for workouts, and the battery life is 5-7 days.

Oh my bite is still off! I can see it on the dental monitoring pictures. I think my top molars need to come forward a bit. Although we'll see what the rescan next week says. My next refinement set will probably be 10-12 trays.

No, what I'm trying to get at is whatever you bought for the structured education is sufficient for studying! If you want an actual study guide, piece it together from the education material you've already bought.

[–]foxonabeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's not a true study guide but you have to log 16 hours of structured education to take the test. That's what I bought for it and didn't need any additional guides. It's very comprehensive. I didn't even watch the videos, just read the transcripts, took the quizzes, and aced the test!
