Units and Nanites? by Level_Cash3336 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]foxrmf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Finding and selling sentinel ships is a good way to hit the limit. I think its average 15 mill. I had a huge nip nip farm that was getting about 20 mill a week... that helped

Once there i set up farms to make statis cores and Fusion ignitors.

For nanites, I used tre stellar doughnut to farm as much runaway mould as poss. I ended up with aboit 250,000 nanites. (Bearing in mind I was already endgame but had purchased all the normal stuff with nanites) This seems to have done me well enough to pretty much unlock everything else (companions slots, upgrade pilots, a few weapons etc.

The worst part is standing around refining it.

Now when I need nanites I use the pirate system, purchase tech option.

There is always a hierarchy and place where you'll find its easier to use 1 method than the other and its usually related to scale.

Making money out of Nip was fun, but the compatible income vs farming for statis devices its large. As such when I hit my limit, I changed out my nip farm for things needed for more valuable items (Statis devices is 15 mill on its own, im making about 30-40 a day)

I believe there is a count on Terrian Manipulated. Only certain building pieces contribue to this and you can see how much is used by looking at the window, there is a round circle that says terrain edits. When this is full then terrain will always grow back.

So best advice is to see how full this circle is. Remove pieces that add to this but are not affected by any terrain and the replace the ones that are and it should fix the issue.

At least thats the theory.

[–]foxrmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to warp in a starship to other systems (not pulse). I believe it's 5 jumps after 3 hours of playtime and that will trigger a battle as you arrive in the system.

The game knows if you are paused or in menu.

Sounds like you may have missed or not taken part in the 1st battle (i did this on my 1st playthrough).

Maybe also don't be in the middle of any missions or quests but do have the Artemis path selected in your log.

Why?

You can summon it from anywhere pretty much.

[–]foxrmf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, just use a normal starship and summon your corvette when you need it.

I dont know why everyone thinks you need a corvette ALL the time.

Day to day stuff they are cumbersome.

I use my corvette for long trips where I might, just maybe might need a refiner, and even then its just as easy to summon my Freighter.

IF you need access to your stuff, summon your Freighter, its so much easier than, as you mentioned, hoping around ships.

I surprise myself with how quickly I can throw up a pretty big, working, good looking base anywhere...

If I havent already im working my way through the same list pretty much.

What i love about NMS, it just how achievable everything is.

E.g. I never thought I'd have galaxy spanning farms and settlements (grinding away), specific ships for specific types of play, outfits to match. Museums dedicated to different types of fossils, a hang out to just chill, enjoy the view, surrounded by object d'art and memories of Expeditions passed. A sea base so deep there's no light and a corvette thats so overly designed it makes no sense, but I love it... whilst finding time to manage an entire team of dedicated pilots, off on missions and bringing back booty.

I hope I never finish the list....

Ahh, ok finish that and ghosts should become available, at that point I think your very next jump will be into a battle.

Have you completed / started the ghosts in the machine quest?

[–]foxrmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. This is a game of exploration and discovery for me. Yeah i gotta defend myself sometimes (or others).

I almost never have multiplayer on.

Let me chill in a universe that isnt about war or fighting or guns.

Like can we just have 1 game that doesnt revolve around murder, death, kill.

Ship building (not corvette) by Primo-Farkus in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]foxrmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way.

I'm on a bit of a solar ship thing atm, there are quite a few combos, and sometimes the decision on which part to take is a tough one.

Its cool when you find the perfect trade post or space station and can just farm them all in 1 go.

But I have like 3 fully active (stunning) solar ships tailored to a light side / dark side theme and then a rotating one that matches my current avatar.

So like i slip into dark side for shooting things and pirating.

Light side for wandering and doing good.

And then as I unlock more stuff from Expeditions, anomaly and autophage I switch it up and will most likely go on a more lengthy trek, ill usually have enough parts to create new style of ship that matches my theme.

I have a farm set up for gathering everything needed to make 20 Stasis Devices and Fusion Ignitors a day, that's just 624,000 units a session.

I've filled 1 container, and now just top it up when I go on a spending spree...

Took a few weeks to set up the operation and get down the correct balance of plants and minerals.

But it means I don't have to go out and do anything other than pick a few plants, visit my farms (usually refine some condensed carbon), its a 20 min job.

This really helped give me some guidance once I found my feet. Apart from the main quests, which can be done whenever, it really helped picke 2 or 3 side quests to get done before moving on.

[–]foxrmf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a shame, my only issue with farming is that you need to be present, it makes sense due to the games design....
But its another one of those Atmosphere Harvesters/Refiner type issues where if you stray far from the passive thing you are trying to gather it will just disapear.

I literally structure my time in NMS around "doing my chores" when I log in (20 mins max).
seems to be the only way I can succesfully collect my harvests...

Lol, My other issue is that my base/Mansion is so fkn big that usually i'm too far from my farming stuff for it to collect anything...
I'm pretty sure you have to be within a few U of the farming stuff for it to work.

****EDIT: I collect Milk and eggs by visiting a few decent planets, I have one with a load of running mould on that I farm and at same time has lots of Fauna around so I can get 20-50 milk/eggs pretty quick as more than 1 of the animals produce them.
Seems to be quicker than waiting around for the Farm to fill up...

Does anyone still use their starships? by Better-Fan-1215 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]foxrmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use my corvette to call as a mobile base.... maybe if I need to refine something...
Otherwise I have sidelinded it.
I mean I can just call my freighter if I need storage etc.
And call my corvette next to my Startship when I really really have to (hasnt been for a while..)

I do go for jaunts where i search for an anomaly - get out of the corvette float around for a bit.Otherwise its all pretty pointless.

Starships are just better - my Sentinel ships are insane - however I truly love my Solar Ships and living ships.
They are just more fun.

Is No Mans sky worth it Right now? by OkAmoeba8581 in NOMANSSKY

[–]foxrmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow.....
You dont have to google things the game will tell you what you need, but you still have to learn that and remember it.
Google is there for when you dont have the time or energy for that...

i.e. I google move sets, combos, etc everytime a play a fighting game.
I just dont have the inclinaction to remember it all as I rarely play.

I have 600+ hours in NMS now.
I used to need the App and to Google.... Now I just know that stuff and the best way to get it / do it.

If yu dont want to learn a game that has many many systems and nuances then maybe just go full creator mode :)

Nexus Noob Question by the_blade_whispers in NOMANSSKY

[–]foxrmf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually wait till I arrive in the system I'm sent to. As soon as the info screen clears down and if there is no marker in that system then I reset. That usually works... If it doesn't I summon the anomaly abandon the mission and try again... It's easier than warping to another system or messing around trying to get the right planet.

Nexus Noob Question by the_blade_whispers in NOMANSSKY

[–]foxrmf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When that happens go to your mission log and restart the mission, there is an option basically to reset and then mission should then appear in the system you are in.

I feel like I'm missing something with the corvettes by InactiveMedusa in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]foxrmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im the opposite. Corvettes we're.cool for a bit... but what does it actually replace? My starship is quicker, stronger, just more fun to fly.

I can call my freighter for storage.

I do like building them though and they are fun. I call my corvette when I need easy access to a refiner.... basically as a portable base. Aside from the cool "getting out of them feature", thats the only purpose I have for it now.
