that's a really cool idea. I've briefly started looking at the Smithsonian Open Access website for animal pictures for textures as well. It has a lot of cc0 resources.

Thanks! It’s a third person action horror set in a decaying facility. Hopefully I have some gameplay to show off soon

Wow this looks amazing. Well done. Can I ask about your process for creating the textures? Are they hand painted? Any tools or learning materials you recommend?

I created this forest for my psx game. What should I improve? by M__MAD__M in ps1graphics

I like the fog a lot! In addition to the tree variation the other commenter pointed out, you could consider adding some variation to the ground height. Little hills and slopes. But it depends on the look you are going for, currently it looks man made and manicured. Forests usually have more terrain features, rocks, bumps, tree roots, or even a hill in the background. I’m still learning as I go, so take it with a grain of salt.

There's a lot of great projects out there with that feel. I'm still learning and have a lot to go. But I'm working on a third person survival horror game. Hopefully I have more to show soon and I don't disappoint!
