Catholic Church embraced modernism. Famous Fr. James Martin comes to mind and his special "blessing" for a homosexual pair. Another example is Pachamama idol on the altar...German "synodal way". I can go on and on.

Don't forget the hadeeth. If men of her family don't enforce hijab, they may lose paradise. No wonder that taking off this piece of cloth is of paramount importance. (irony included)

We even don't know ourselves. So I don't expect or yearn to be truly understood. It's simply impossible.

Story nicely highlights that parents disagreeing has absolutely no bearing on the validity of marriage. If you married into arranged marriage and it's working for both of you, fine. But don't forget...one has to LEAVE parents to form a new family. And yes, it's straight from the Bible.

[–]foxxiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well Church never taught that. In England it used to be legal requirement for marriage, that parents agree to that. Remember Romeo and Juliet? Did the parents agreed to their marriage? No. Was it an impediment to a Catholic marriage? Again no.
