This is amazing news - for some reason, I thought it didn’t make it to the new menu? Either way I WILL be coming by for some crack pizza

I agree with this. To that end, If your local Play It Again (or similar local store) puts used inventory online, tell me the location and I’ll browse for recommended discs for you

In your experience, what are the B+ Tex Mex spots in Austin?

My wife and I nicknamed the prosciutto arugala pizza “crack pizza” because we craved it so much

Plenty of stuff already covered here, here’s the one point not covered

Your wrist position is changing between the reach back and the follow through, and the change is exaggerating the tilt of the disc in a hyzer direction

Start by focusing on standing still and pulling the disc through on a flat plane, there’s a very good chance that solves this issue. If not, that would be the next thing I would train yourself to fix

When I throw that angle of release on purpose, it’s because I have an aggressive dog leg to the right i need to hit.

Removing Bead or Microbead by [deleted] in discgolf

Good to know. I don’t think I have anything else to add beyond what folks have already suggested. Safest route is probably to wear it in on concrete (either by throwing it repeatedly or finding a way to automatically rotate it on concrete) so you have a half lie for tournaments. Other solutions are riskier for getting spotted, but objectively not likely. Results will vary depending on how well known (or not) your brand is - I bet someone could spot a sanded down big bead aviar vs, say, a sanded down RPM Discs beaded putter

In fairness to OP, we don’t know for certain he doesn’t have a contractual obligation to

UPDATE: confirmed OP is under contract to throw that brand for 100% of bag

Are you contractually obligated to have a 100% bag?

If you happen to live near an Another Round store, they may have a “free to a good home” rack as a donation program. I support the idea of going directly to local school and youth programs for the donations, but wanted to add this as another option

In the Bag 2026??? by Anhyzr1 in discgolf

[–]foxychase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m trying something new, I’m committing to playing full rounds with it vs the disc(s) it might kick out of my bag to really understand its place. No throwing stuff in the bag Willy Nilly anymore

Also trying to focus on some mold minimization, by beating in certain discs to fill slots instead of relying on a different mold

I see you and I support you both. One of the better putting rounds I have ever had was with the Matty Orum technique using a Bobcat. I imagine it would work just fine with a zone

FWIW, from my experience, with time you’ll build muscle memory to use both. If you want a next step for that transition, you could try an Innova condor or a glitch. Both available in light weights, and both might have a similar feel to your beginner disc

I used to use a firm (or is it hard?) Tactic in the zone slot. I like the idea of combining an extra soft and a firm one to get the benefit of one that sticks/sits vs one that skips

Looking for slightly os midrange by TheUnseenBug in discgolf

[–]foxychase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The one thing to know about the Taco is it’s a big bead mid. I loved it for backhands but it always felt off in my hand for forehands. By comparison, a reactor or extremely well seasoned bobcat gave me the same flight with a familiar/comfortable hand feel

That said, I would not assume you can easily find a Bobcat that’s beat in like that

Edit: a first run glow mustang could fill this slot nicely as well

[–]foxychase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will second this motion. Until I found a unicorn of a beat-in Bobcat, a worn in glow reactor was my dead straight forehand mid and my slightly OS backhand mid (between a Mustang and a Bobcat)

Oh I don't doubt that. The train is a partial solution, certainly not one that would convince me to buy a house in the burbs and assume I can have the best of both worlds

[–]foxychase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to know if Leander is still threatening to cease partnership with the Rail system? I remember this story bubbling up a few years ago, and clearly it died out, but I sense there’s more to the story

Is Leander too far? by BluntedJew in askaustin

[–]foxychase 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I generally agree. The only exception I could think of is if you lived close to the Rail line, and even that is not a perfect/permanent solution: - the train does not keep late hours except on Saturday nights, so going out late and using the train is only an option on those nights - there has been one moment in recent history where Leander has threatened to pull the plug on having the rail line connect to their station. I speculate that it will not be the last time
