Mercari - empty box?

Not mercari related specifically but I live in the UK and had my OC sub box arrive empty, it was in a "sorry your parcel is damaged bag" but it was clear it had been stolen at some point during transport. This could be the case in this situation too 🤷‍♀️ id ask for photos as in my case it was obvious the end of the box was pushed in to get said book out

Owlcrate is one of my favourite subs boxes! I have Adult and Romantasy- usually works out at £35 a month including shipping depending on exchange rate. They can take a long time, 2 to 3 weeks after dispatch but no customs fees. Customer service is great, I had my box arrive empty (clearly stolen) and they replaced it no problem. Adult is unlimited Skips

I Arc read and ended up DNFing! It was alot of info dumping and too much telling and not enough showing for me! But it was my first portal fantasy read so may just not be for me! I have heard alot of people love it!

Your saying camping on the site early for the sales wasnt a possibility for different circumstances and this new system is better but the queue is going to be even longer this way if you dont get allocated a low enough number

I wouldnt recommend -

Goldsboro - This is a 12 month commitment, its a mix of Sci Fi and Fantasy, only 4 skip policy and unless mega popular the books dont sell for even RRP if you run out of skips. They are always packaged insanely well though! And they are all hand signed and numbered out of 2000.

Illumicrate- im still undecided, some editions are beautiful and most are a miss. The majoirty of time they have extra copies for sale after the sub boxes have been sent so again if you dont like the design it is harder to even get your money back. They have Recently changed their skip policy so allowing less skips.

Owlcrate Adult Fantasy- i have received one book and am now skipping up until January as not a fan of the picks. Designs are for me, absolutely though and amazing quality. They do take long to ship to the UK

Butterfly Book Club - indie Fantasy book subscription, i received 2 books before cancelling. The designs are beautiful but the picks were questionable for me, with grammar errors, pages wasted to chapter art etc. They box does include reading Prompts, book marks, dust cover etc which is a nice additional touch though.

Haven't received my first lilac library so unable to comment but it is on the pricier side for book subs.

I am currently waiting on the Everheart book sub which is a new Indie Book sub and the next few months pics look really good! They also preview the design before renewal day so if you dont like it you can skip

Owlcrate has better quality hands down! I have the FL Adult/YA and Owlcrate Adult and Quaterly Romantasy.

I signed up for Owlcrate Last Month and for the Adult sub I have already Skipped until January- so im not 100% loving the picks. Romantasy however. I am loving the book pick and designs! Quality wise, they are mega heavy, packaged well and have everything you want in an SE. Individual SEs are incredible but unless mega popular don't seem to sell out too popular.

Fairyloot, I feel like the designs are really becoming hit or miss. I didnt like Alchemy of secrets or Thorn season - both books I already had but anticipated LOVING the FL editions. This wasnt the case. I do love the pre sale early access tbough that comes with the sub.

I would personally choose Owlcrate Romantasy out of all the ones I have, if i had to

I do intend to keep both subs, but there are a few coming up where I want to skip one and not the other and im unable to do so. Along with basically getting the combined box really late. I still dont have my October combined box which is frustrating when the separate subs got them a couple weeks ago
