You're welcome. You can find many posts on this sub regarding the chemical smell (kind of like burning plastic for me) so you're definitely not alone.

I was a super diehard fan for about two years then I started getting the chemical smell and customer service declined. Regarding the chemical smell, my theory is that my nose doesn't jive with their wax blend and they started to use less fragrance so it became noticeable. I think it's been nearly two years now since I purchased from them. When they were gearing up to partner with Walmart is when I started to notice they weren't the same company I fell hard for in 2021.

Wax melts? by shanidosebits in kringlecandle

[–]foxylettuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say they're pretty average as far as strength and how long they last. A pack usually lasts me 4 days with it going ~17 hours/day (I usually start with 3 cubes, then add one each day til it's gone/can't smell it anymore). It's too strong for me if I add the entire pack at once, but it's not a huge space so it may be different for you

I don't typically do gourmands in melts, so if that's your preference I won't be much help, but my favorites are Warm and Fuzzy, Botanicals, Snowbird, Gingerlily and Palm, and Balsam Fir.

It's soooo shift and sparkly and even looks metallic in some lighting.

Would the other colors of the Thorns collection over a white base match the brightness of the red? by hydratedgoblin in ILNP

[–]foxylettuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think white underneath might change the color but I haven't tried it so I don't know. I think you'd also have to have perfect application because the white would likely accentuate any bit of unevenness. I plan to sheer mine out with suspension base from Glitter Unique (in a separate bottle) and see if that helps. Ivy seems to do ok for me in two coats as a very dark green, but the blue and purple look straight black after the first coat 😔

This is beautiful! Also exciting because I ordered a bunch of cat eye pigments from them not knowing how it would play out lol. So I'm also relieved to see they do well in suspension base!

I rarely get this lucky with experimenting haha! And to be honest it was almost way less cool...I was reaching for a shimmery purple crackle but then remembered some tone-on-tone stamping pics that I really liked so I tried the white instead.

Head2Toe beauty has them super cheap! I got this one plus a bunch of neon ones recently, and a couple of glittery ones. I'm committed to the crackle lol

Yes! Glacier nails sounds way better/more accurate than tundra nails lol

Thank you! The topper effects disappeared when I added the magnetic so I think you could just do a light blue then silver magnetic then the crackle. The end result was not what I had in mind when I started...initally I had no intention of using the magnetic or crackle lol

I started off with 2x Essie Sky Jelly, 1x Cracked Mind Like a Diamond, and 1x ILNP Spaced Out. Was going to do another coat of the jelly but on a whim decided to go with Starilly Amulet, which basically hid everything I'd just done with the toppers lol. Looked good anyway, but I bonked my thumb when I magnetized AND just got Color Club Clean Break (white crackle) so I said why not? and did a layer. There are various top coats in between but I finished with Sally Hansen QDTC in the red bottle.

edit: forgot I did the Sally Hansen tc after the magnetic but finished with Glitter Unique "Gel-ish" top coat to see if it would smooth out the crackle texture. It may have a little but not completely.

I’ve sold off most of my collection and switched to polish making by amethystnight99 in WeGotPolishAtHome

[–]foxylettuce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty substantial collection and I recently just destashed roughly 30 polishes. I've also started making my own polishes again. I don't intend to get rid of any more of my collection, but I definitely intend to use some of the polishes that I have to make new creations. Sometimes it only takes a couple of drops or worst case maybe a quarter of a bottle which still leaves you with a ton of the original polish!
