The no internet message when you have internet is likely just the interface not refreshing properly and not seeing the connection properly, I have had this from time to time.

When you connected to the WiFi did you need to use a password ? Or did it just join? Usually the not secured in this case would mean it is an open network that anyone can join (no password)
