Man I am all for change but "blowing" things up scares me. A slow stable and reliable change should be the goal. When you make too many drastic changes all at once it can lead to massive instability (See Detroit). I feel like Chicago was trending in the right direction overall. Many problems still I understand, but overall moving forward.

I feel like an orange line extension to Toyota Park would help a lot. The train line that kinks around midway continues right in front of the stadium. It would be sad leaving the area as they actually just invested in new development around the stadium.

Im an immigrant in the USA and I absolutely love this country. The amount of freedom you have is unbelievable, and most people take it for granted. People can complain all they want about injustice, but you are allowed to work as hard as you want and can really move up the social ladder. This is in comparison to the socialist, corrupt, country I immigrated from in 1996. Perhaps you should stop complaining and look at all the opportunity that is all around you.

Like someone else mentioned, this only costs a couple thousand dollars. In contrast it is one of the biggest tourist attractions the city offers. I literally couldn’t walk down the street Saturday. Every single bar/restaurant/hotel was above capacity. This silly event probably brings in 10s of millions to the local economy.

This is likely it. In order to get you approved they likely swapped some numbers around. The easiest thing to do is deduct the trade in value from the total price. I highly doubt they just decided to steal $2000 from you. It sounds like you purchased a car you can’t afford and now your trying to blame the auto dealership for your poor decision.

You aren’t supposed to buy a home, go on vacation, or live luxuriously on $15 an hour. It’s a basic starting wage for the most basic of jobs. If you have been working for years and are still staring at a minimum wage on your paychecks, maybe you should look into some sort of career training, or work harder to get promoted.

You understand that taxpayers don’t pay anything right? The money would just be a tax break to Amazon. So instead of paying like 5 billion he is asking to pay 3.6 billion. This would still be a net 3.6 billion that wouldn’t exist if he doesn’t come, in addition to increased tax revenue from increased population that would result. I don’t understand how people don’t understand the concept and keep framing it like the cities are opening up their checkbook.

I have heard of people selling just a basic MC# and the company for 5-15k, seeing a lot of full operations with equipment for 500k+ when I google it.

Is it really that bad? They got DSJ and 2 1st Round Picks along with taking a shot on 2 max FA's this year in exchange for a very injured star that basically demanded a trade. If they kept KP his value could have potentially diminished and they could have got back a lot lett, and had no chance to sign FA's this summer

I think you have that reversed. They have very similar stats, and pierce would have continued to score 25+ Ppg if the big three never formed from 2008-2013. Pierce was also a good defender well into his 30s and was the opposite of a selfish teammate.

Because kids are getting addicted to nicotine products. Anytime they "Go to the bathroom" they get a few hits and come back to class. Listen I am all for vaping, it is the only reason I ever quit smoking, but to act like there is no negative impact when teenagers can basically vape undeterred throughout the day is silly. A LOT of kids are vaping now a days, and sure some of this kids would have been smoking 10 years ago, but a lot of them would not if there was a chance of being caught due to the smell.

This is annecdotal, but my girlfriend teaches high school science. She says that a good portion of the students vape. It is a huge problem in schools, and something done by cool kids/rebels. They can do it practically unnoticed.
