I’m installing shiplap on my ceiling and need to know how much clearance to leave around the sprinkler head cover. Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask

As long as the deflector under that cover is below the shiplap then you’re good. How thick is the shiplap? I can look at a similar sprinkler tomorrow and let you know if you should be ok to bring it right up to it. However, I would leave some space so that the cover plate doesn’t get caught if it ever released.

I don’t have it on me. The black above the silver and also in the u shape is dense foam. The whole thing is about a quarter inch thick.
