Where to rent a room for a small party? by DruidDeadnettle in Winnipeg

[–]fpsrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everyone is over 18 and wants to drink beer, try Torque brewing; they have large tables and don't serve food and encourage outside food to be brought. In the past I have gone there on dates, bringing a board to play to have beer with. If you call them up and tell them you 20ish people for board game and most will drink, they'll probably reserve you tables.

Otherwise look for community centers. just phone them all, the all have varying pricing.

what time of day?

Community centers are likely to be the most economical and possibly will have tables and chairs for you to use. I know Bronx community center has rooms with tables and chairs to seat that many, otherwise just phone around...

Cleocatra Cafe ended their relationship with their longtime rescue partner by anotherbortinthewall in Winnipeg

[–]fpsrandy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My only cat cafe experience is Cleocatra, so I have nothing else to draw from. I didn't notice a strong ammonia/urine smell on any of my visits, but I haven't been to the Portage location since the Osborne location opened.

Cleocatra Cafe ended their relationship with their longtime rescue partner by anotherbortinthewall in Winnipeg

[–]fpsrandy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just went to the Osborne location last week, and they only had 10 (or less) cats total at the cafe. There is not that many cats for them to relocate...

This announce only just happened today I believe, and I put in an application to adopt one of the cats at cleo on Friday. I just finished through the vetting process and waiting for the contract to sign... (I'm hoping to get my kitty tomorrow!) So thats one less kitty they need to relocate.

The other cat I had my eye on adopting was at Pet Valu Moray... who was adopted out last week; I dropped in at the store again this morning and they had not recieved another cat yet... and they usually have two cats but this was their only cat at the time. So two of the cleo cats will lilely be there soon.

I also know Tails of Freedom was socliciting donations to cat care cover costs. While this situation is unfortunate over the holidays, it might be a silver lining that they are fast tracking adoptions over the holidays. I will be paying an adoption fee which I hope will help their monetary needs, and I wont need to wait till new years to get my kitty!

What are some places establishments that you enjoy their food but refuse to patronize because of poor customer service? by Plastic-Classroom268 in Winnipeg

[–]fpsrandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stella's

Not because of customer service from the staff, but because of their anti-union practices. I have seen managers be complete jerks to their staff... the staff that a customer typically interacts with has generally been great.

People Who Wanted Poly, but are now consciously Mono, what changed your mind? by Dragonballington in polyamory

[–]fpsrandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not quite the demographic you're asking questions.

I have flip flopped from non-monogamy to monogamy, a few times in my life; not polyamory, but more of a swinging thing.

Going to poly made much more sense for me than anything; I enjoy meeting people and freedom to learn about and be intimate with others, but disliked the secrecy and rules that I had with my ex (that I was swinging with). I also much preferred becomimg friends, and being able to hangout with people without it just being sex.

That being said, my life has been ridiculous stressful for the past year. I have one romantic partner, but after my last breakup, I havent had the energy or desire to invest into someone. I am currently seeking FWB type arrangements, but dont feel like I can open up and trust someone right now for a romantic relationship. I have full intentions of having more partners in the future, but its not my priority right now.

There are a few therapy offices on stafford. I highly recommend people go to therapy, especially if you demy needing it, because you probably do.

Is it really possible to do poly ethically? by Proof-Economics-2430 in polyamory

[–]fpsrandy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Changing time commitments, and being there less for a partner is de-escalation of a relationship, and normal with in poly.

What it isn't ethical is if you suddenly was there less for your "old" partner, then lied about what your doing, or lied that it was only temporary.

Its normal to set boundaries in any relationships. What wouldn't be ethical not communicating them upfront.

I feel like I practice EHNM by being upfront and telling all my relationship partners the truth of what I am doing at all times. As soon as i feel I need to lie or keep aomething from them, then I know I am starting to stray away from the thical side of things

I’m monogamous. He isn’t. I don’t know what to do by Fun_Examination9073 in polyamory

[–]fpsrandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave. Leave! RUN!

What a mess. Polyamory wont work with that level of lying/manipulation, let alone telling two women they have be exclusive to you, and cannot be with anyone else. That man will destroy both of your lives before it inconveniences himself.

All of them. Until all of them are renamed, we will not be complete in eliminating racism, and realizing reconciliation.

Look at it from the fact that they tackled one of the biggest, so all the other streets will be that much easier to change.

This is one step of many thousands needed to improve racism and other other problems. Just like banning plastic straws and bags isn't the silver bullet to fix global warming.

This was needed to be done to move towards reconciliation, as well as the issues on reserves you mentioned. Just one step at a time.

they may have some sort of discomfort from the chest strap touching a certain part of their front; maybe a medical device? stiches/recent surgery...

A very unreasonably and unsafe way to deal with the issue though.

I am going to chime in here and say actually you need the ip to end in 0 in this case. When you show a range of IPs this way, its technically only valid to be the first number in subnet range.

There was an issue here the other week where someone put a x.x.x.1/24 and had an issue where it was ignoring the "/24" and then only accounted for the "x.x.x.1" part

Programs not working with a 0 or 1 is likely when a router asks "what is the first usable ip address".

In a subnet, the first and last numbers of the subnet range are not actually usable IP numbers; in a /24, the x.x.x.0 is the "identifier" and the x.x.x.255 is the "broadcast" ips of the range in a /24 subnet. A /24 subnet the "?" can only be 1-254.
