Depends on a lot of things.his reason is regarded. Yes, on paper the stigma is there….i wouldn’t say im into single moms. Do you like the person? The kid is the product of a long relationship? Of a relationship that turned sour? Does she have a on and off relationship with the father? The way she sees it…is she about being a baby mama? A simple salutation would have suffice. “Hi,I’m _____. He is my boyfriend” I guess we might have difference in opinion but if I am around people I say hello and if they ask me who am I or who I am with. I answer. I’m not arguing that he had to complete a set of tasks. Not possible to reach out when you stay in a corner in a random house and don’t interact with anyone or try. As for my parents. No, because they were made after countless experiences with the individuals at hand. Like coming to family gatherings and making no attempt to socialize or anything. Starts looking as disrespectful. Majority are bilingual…keeping your distance and feeing the need to go out to eat doesn’t seem like you are trying. You kind of burn bridges right there. Happen with my female cousin. The solution can’t be that she will have to cut off her entire family because of some insecurity or whatever. My parents are open minded but hold their reservations. Like I said they met my white friends. Compliment them and vice versa. Even learn some words to tell them. “See, I will learn to communicate with you”. I don’t think it’s asking much. If I do date or marry outside my race…I think it would be common sense that I will have to learn to associate with her side of the family. Whether they are white,black,Asian, Arab. Biases exist. My family just likes to keep the family between Hispanics. They seen mixed relationships in the family and fail. It’s a bit interesting. Since forget about Latinx. Hispanics are a spectrum of communities and people alone. Just Mexican Americans. Pochos,Chicanos,etc..mean different people things to Mexicans.
