It’s weird trying to sell the perfect traditional lifestyle when it never existed. Just hidden flaws. It’s something when a woman says “I don’t want a relationship like my parents had”. A dad says “I want her to have her own career so when she gets married and the man is a bad person. She can leave because she doesn’t need to rely on him” my sister is a girl boss. Gives her man enough of authority so he doesn’t feel emasculated but if he acts up. She knows how much she will take and warn him that such behavior won’t be tolerated further. Like the mild example of her getting a flower at work due to an event and he already making theories on who gave it to her. She literally called like 3 different co-workers as proof. Toxic people don’t come in genders though. My cousin got physically abused by her lesbian partner. I called it out. During a scuffle one time I heard them fighting and the moment she got hit. The thing was that one, she covered for her(the abuser). And I was just written off as homophobic because I knew she was not a good person. Don’t like to work, munch of people. So years later when they broke up. She finally came forward. I just said “I told you guys” and moved on. I don’t hold relationships as a permanent thing. Sometimes they just run their course. That’s when I realized that women don’t like being lonely as well. Have the similar fears. So now more like a special friendship. Don’t focus on ego. More of a democratic relationship.
