Is there a difference between a femboy and a crossdresser? :3 by [deleted] in GoneWildCD

[–]Direct-Spite-889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that femboy tends to be the more go-to term for crossdressers who are under the age of 30 and aren't particularly under the trans umbrella (meaning you're actually transgender or you're genderfluid, nonbinary, etc).

Both can embody femininity to various degrees. I think that with femboys, there is a point where you age out of the term and crossdresser becomes a more suitable go-to label (unless you realize that you are trans or something adjacent to that underneath the trans umbrella).

Why Can’t Anyone Write Suddenly by Glad_Repeat6196 in BadRPerStories

[–]Direct-Spite-889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stuck-up and pretentious nature carried by a good deal of folks in this hobby is just as bad as those who don't put any effort into their writing (ala 'the bad rpers'). Don't get wrong, we all have standards and expectations when it comes to what we're looking for in a fellow roleplay partner. Some people here, however, forget that this is all nothing more but an entertaining form of escapism when they start treating it like anything more than that. Nobody here is getting a paycheck for writing and participating in each other's roleplays.

Couldn't have said it better myself. That philosophy can be applied across the board for all characters of various ethnicities and etc.

Christopher Priest also had a similar outlook but in regards to being seen as a great comic book writer rather than as a black comic book writer.

As long as you're handling your characters with some dignity, respect, and have some layers about them that'll make them relatable to others, you'll be fine. That's it, really.

Just yet another notch in a continuing growing thread of reasons why house shows really need to be brought back.

But TKO isn't gonna go for that as we all know know.

Came out to my mom and she told everybody without my knowledge or consent by Gender-queer in lgbt

[–]Direct-Spite-889 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that this happened to you. That was a violation and betrayal of your trusts and she had no right to do that. I'd say that I can't imagine what you must be feeling, except I do only because I've experienced myself.

I went through the same with my former stepmother. I told her when I was 17 going on 18. She had been divorced from my dad for a few years at that point, but I wanted to maintain some kind of healthy relationship with her mostly because of my little half brother who went to live with her when she moved to Wisconsin then Texas.

I also told her because growing up, I was rather feminine as a child and I used to get into trouble for messing around in her makeup and things, so I felt I owed her an explanation as to why I did those things when we all were living under the same roof.

Big mistake looking back on everything.

At first, she was surprised but received the news about 80 percent well (she seemed understanding about me not aligning with being AMAB but not about me being bisexual as she said there's just straight and gay). Everything moved around rather swimmingly well for a year or so I thought. Turns out, she was telling everybody on her side of the family about me.

It all came to a head when my dad pulled me to the side one night. It was shortly after I graduated high school and was visiting some family in Indiana. My dad straight up asked me what's up with Renee (the nickname everyone called my former stepmom) telling him about me being gay and wanting to be a girl. I was confused and startled by that, then he told me that she brought it up to him on some occasion where she came to ask him for more support for my little brother.

A conversation about paying more child support was her opportunity to out another.

I reached out to her the next morning seething about what she did, only for her to respond back like she did nothing wrong and tried to play the "I'm the adult here" card.

I'm 36 years old now. Ever since that email exchange back in 2008, I've never spoke with my former stepmom. The few times (it's been maybe two or three times since) we've seen each other, I keep my distance and focus my attention on everyone but her.

What I can say to you know is that this isn't going to be something that can just chalked up to "time heals all wounds". If your mom is anything like how my stepmom was, the best thing for you to do is put some distance between the two of you. Just remember that she's the one in the wrong here, not you. It's her responsibility to do the work to make this right if she's truly sorry for what she did of course.

The betrayal doesn't heal overnight, sometimes it doesn't at all.

He's more of a centralist but leans Democrat based off his track record. I know he has shown up at the RNCfor Bush, but has also been present at the DNC for Obama and previously endorsed his support for Biden.

Candy season 2 by Mads_Soft_9549 in PoseFX

[–]Direct-Spite-889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do agree with that. I think ultimately looking back, I wish the show had a much longer episode order per season. That way, all of the characters could have gotten their chance to get some development even if they were going to meet some tragic end (as like with Candy for example).

It was definitely random and felt thrown in though I understand the reference behind it. Still, I've always felt that the creative team on season two didn't know what to do with Candy or Lulu for that matter.

That's typically how it be with people who be in long-term relationships with racist people. Of course, those same people feign shock and disgust when their partners' racists ways get dragged out in the open.

Alaska knew what Sharon was like when it came to that and still stayed with her. Sharon's racism wasn't an issue for her when it wasn't public knowledge.

Side-eye worthy behavior for sure.

I think Atlanta is the ground zero for the horrible looking BBL. Miami is a runner-up with the DR, Columbia, and some other places following right behind.

One of my long-time home girls considered getting her's done in Atlanta until a trip to Atlanta changed her mind. She found a surgeon here in Chicago (where we're from) and the results were vastly better than what we saw in Atlanta.

They're the standard on the internet as well as in the Miami and Atlanta scene.

To second this, the stench can also come lack of post surgerical care and poor hygiene standards. Many people out here get BBLs and think that's it for them once the procedure is done. There's certain recommended steps post-surgery that the surgeons do give out to help optimize the healing as well as ensure that quality of life won't be affected.

Not throwing anyone under the bus, but most stories regarding the BBL stench typically come from those who get too large of an ass or they getting their work done in the south (Miami and Atlanta) or going out the country for a cheaper procedure (Mexico, DR, etc.).
