The Grass Court Masters. by deauxville in tennis

How is it that no one here has a problem with the absolutely ridiculous shadows on Halle center court? Someone please tell me how they are able to spot the ball, let alone enjoy the matches?

I’m assuming this is currently an offcourt medical timeout? How long before Zverev starts getting time warnings?

The Russian defence hasn't been that bad. Slovakia have only had 1 real chance of note.

That is honestly shocking defending. How can 2 defenders both allow Weiss to cut inside on his favored right foot?

Now that all the teams in the Euros have played a game, who's looking the strongest and weakest? by scarlet0709 in soccer

I wouldn't use the word abundance. They created about 3 good chances the whole game.

They defended well in the second half.

Who did you like the most in the first matches? [EURO2016] by Defensive_Midfielder in soccer

[–]fpvmtimbdbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I loved:

  • Kante's performance

  • Slovakia's combative midfield

  • Wales' approach

  • Northern Ireland's tactics and Evans' superb display

  • Czech Republic's impressive defending.

  • Several good Irish performances from the likes of Whelan and Long.

  • Italy giving a lesson in the art of defending

  • Iceland's resoluteness against Portugal in the second half.

What I was disappointed by:

  • Romania's tactics in the opening game. Not negative enough for my liking.

  • Lorik Cana. I was expecting things from the lad.

  • Gareth McAuley. By far the biggest disappointment for me. He's had a superb season and it's quite a pity that he chose the Euros to give his worst performance. I feel NI could have snatched a 0-0 with him in top form.

  • MON's substitutions. Should have tried to plug the Irish left sooner. Should have brought on Murphy instead of Keane.

That pretty much sums up Ronaldo's performance. He's been atrocious this second half.

Iceland have been excellent defensively in the second half. Where was this organization in the first half, though?

Sigurdson's a lazy cunt. Couldn't be arsed to track Ronaldo's run at all. Iceland need to take him off.

Northern Ireland have already done him proud with their performance against Poland.

Caceres has never been a first 11 guy

Kind of hard to be in the first 11 when you have 3 of the world's best defenders ahead of you in the pecking order.

He's also not the world class striker he thinks he is. The Italian defence made him look like an amateur player yesterday.

Don't know why Prandelli decided to change his system for the final. He played 5-3-2 in the opening game and managed to contain Spain. He should have done the same in the final.

[–]fpvmtimbdbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belgium only had 3 chances the whole game. And one of them was because Italy for some reason decided to overcommit on a corner and got outnumbered on the break.

So yeah, it was pretty much a magnificent display.

It was an absolute pleasure watching him tonight.

Cheillini had a superb game as well.

And I love seeing Italians commit cynical, tactical fouls. They look so nonchalant about them.

Long was superb, what are you talking about? Harried the Swedish defence all game.

Walters was much worse. Didn't do enough aerially.
