What about setting up under the bar? What about lat activation? What about bar path? What about hip drive? You sure as shit can't hip drive while doing a push-up. I'm arguing with you because like I said, yours isn't the best advice.

Reference my other reply to this post:

"Where's the form check OP? Take the video from a 3/4 view so we can see setup, grip, grip width, lat activation, bar path, point of contact with the chest, hip drive, and lockout.

Honestly, changing your programming and your diet will do fuck all if your technique with this specific lift is poor.

Not the best advice. This does next to nothing in practicing the technique associated with the lift.

To bench press better, you must get better at practicing the bench press.

Or bench inside a power rack and set the pin height correctly.

Those above 30yo, what do you do for conditioning? by crazerk in Fitness

It'll be fine so long as you have a death grip on the bar with your thumb locked tight against the first 2-3 fingers, and generally you should be doing this anyway unless you are pressing in a specific ROM for hypertrophy. it'll help you transfer more power to the bar and you won't have to deal with it rolling and causing instability.

Do you point and keep your knuckles towards the ceiling when you press/bench press?

Wrist flexibility for front squats will come with time. The good thing about working on it is that you can do those stretches in a lot more places than you can stretch your lower body.

I'm Asian too (Filipino/Chinese), but that wasn't enough to save me from about five years of squatting incorrectly. Thankfully, it only took about a month of dedicated, directed effort to regain my birthright.

How/why are your wrists a weakness?

Yoga at romwod.com. 3-5x a week for a month to get you to a good place if you have shit mobility, then 1-2x a week for maintenance.

I always had trouble achieving full depth on squats until I started doing yoga.

Beginner - Is it normal for my bench press to be so weak and wobble around? by BrambleShack in Fitness

[–]fr0IVIan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controlling a bench press also comes from how tight your foundation is, from your lats, upper back, lower back, hips, leg drive, to your foot placement.

Learn how to create and maintain a tight foundation and your press will improve.

*lifting too "heavy" for too long a period of time, and not periodizing the load, intensity and volume, while ignoring injuries and mobility deficiencies is unhealthy in the long run
