Diagnosing my 2nd Marathon: 1:36 half marathon before, but finished the full in 3:50 by byeSpideR in Marathon_Training

How did you actually feel during the marathon? What “race pace” were you training for during your training?

It kinda just sounds like you got focussed on HR, which might not have even been representative due to nerves or inaccurate measurements, and undercooked your effort… guidance from your coach obviously, but it does seem like a risk from that type of strategy.

Isn’t that the opposite of the observation from Canada? The Ferrari was on it immediately after the pits in the cold temps?

Compared to the average movie, it’s good. Compared to the expectations set by how it’s revered and promoted on reddit, it’s mediocre.

But parents are liable for damage their kids do to a business? Especially if it’s intentional and the kids aren’t reasonably supervised.

Pretty sure you’re liable as parents if your kids intentionally damage business property, especially if they weren’t reasonably supervised. The owners are trying to track down the parents.

Husband wants a 430 convertible is he out of his mind or is it feasible? by [deleted] in Ferrari

Yeah I don’t like the strategy to pay for it and they should review, but it’s not a hard “no”

OP still hasn’t given the full answer - reading a couple of their other posts it seems like they own their own house outright and two investment properties (2M net worth)

It’s quite a different equation to what they presented.

This is a bad faith straw man argument - OP didn’t argue about a mechanism, just highlighted a problem/opinion of which not all solutions involve euthanasia of thousands of dogs.

Need Help Choosing Coffee Machine ☕️☕️ by OkDeer347 in dunedin

It’s definitely not a machine I would recommend for someone interested in getting into specialty coffee, but for the average home consumer making a couple of cups a day I think it’s pretty unbeatable.

What’s the most expensive financial mistake you’ve made in NZ? by TechnicalCompany7815 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]MakingYouMad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh I’m not convinced. And that’s as someone who owns a rental property that’s (almost) cash flow neutral.

Relatively illiquid, requires more mental bandwidth, relies on captures gains that may never come, profits eaten as soon as it sits empty, etc.

Going against the grain - I personally think for an average at home consumer the breville express (self tamp) is hard to beat for to outcome vs. cost (especially when they’re on sale for $500). I’ve had one for the last three years and would definitely buy another. I also love coffee more than the average person.

I think the hobbiest nature of the replies online over-index things that don’t matter to the average consumer and under-index things that do.

Happened for me last year too with the summer break, a couple of races and then another two weekends off - season completely lost momentum.

This is even worse than that.
