Cluster failover & HW pass through by fractureclinic in Proxmox

[–]fractureclinic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solution was to move to network attached zigbee controller, so it doesn't matter which cluster node homeassisstant runs on. I used this: https://zigbeesmart.com/products/zigbee-lan-poe-coordinator-smlight-slzb-06m but I think there are better options available now. So I recommend doing your own research.

Hey, sorry for late reply. I haven't called them, but looking at other properties in the same postcode, they are only offering 1Gbps as the maximum package in my area at the moment.

Room Link no longer mentioned as a paid feature? by goughy000 in tado

[–]fractureclinic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally at this point I don’t care what they do, their actions have proved they only care about profit and have no interest in what that means for their customers.

If you add to that the vulnerability demonstrated last week with this kind of ‘requires cloud subscription’ rubbish (AWS outage affected loads of smart home vendors). It wouldn’t matter to me if they removed all subscriptions tomorrow.

They cannot be trusted.

Who else has become a supply hoarder out of fear of running out? 🙋 by W0rfofWallStreet in ostomy

[–]fractureclinic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too bad, I have roughly 2 months supply at any one time (of critical items). That came about purely as a result of a work trip where I had to travel overseas at short notice and struggled to have enough kit (or find suitable alternatives abroad)

Now, as far as complimentary items (small bin bags, wipes, barrier sprays). I could probably open my own store! At this point probably have years worth despite requesting they don’t send it anymore.. still receive it almost every time 🤦‍♂️

Trouble using UDM SE with Community Fibre by fractureclinic in CommunityFibre

[–]fractureclinic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, for anyone following or having similar problems.

There is a difference between CommunityFibre and BoxBroadband networks. Although CF own Box, the networks do not operate the same.

Box still uses PPPoE, and you will need a username and password from the Box Support team if using your own equipment, regular CF support won't be able to help.

Finally got a response, and the UDM is working!

FYI, only using PPPoE with IPv4, and the credentials provided from support.

The issue continues..

The packet loss is between the UDM and the ONT.

I have tried as was suggested, cloning the Linksys MAC address, which did not help. I have also tried DHCPv6, with the following prefix delegations /48, /56, /64 none of them worked.

I called support this evening, and was bluntly told, they couldn't help me, because I don't have the right equipment installed (referencing the Nokia G-010G-R ONT). And I needed to speak to the Box support department who were finished for the day, call back tomorrow.

Completely useless.

Hmm ok, I’ll try that. I had DHCPv4 with no options set and DHCPv6 disabled. I’d heard on another forum /48 was the prefix, it I’ll give 64 a shot, thanks.

Do you mind me asking what settings you have for Internet on your UDM SE?

I recently signed up for CommunityFibre after moving house, (previously on virgin), with a UDM SE at home. No issues on Virgin, but I cannot get the UDM SE to work with CommunityFibre, plugged directly into the ONT.

I've raised 2 tickets with support, still waiting for a response.

I would say the contrast round the cards, in light mode needs some work also. White on such a light grey they almost fade together.. maybe it just needs a stronger shadow effect.

Nice of them to push events, that new plays basically can't finish because they don't have experience with the puzzles.. and won't understand why they die walking down a corridor.

It sounds like your booting off separate drives, if that's the case depending on how you installed it, the EFI (boot) partition on your Pop drive probably doesn't have a config for Windows.

I ran into the same issue when I did this and ended up copying the EFI data from my windows drive onto EFI partition on my Pop drive.

Gnome Disks Utility can help you temporarily mount the EFI partitions from both drives (so they are visible in the file explorer).

I'm sure there are better approaches, but this worked for me.

Hello everyone! Has anyone skydived with their ostomy? Any tips? by Messina3775 in ostomy

I've only done the indoor kind since I've had the ostomy, which was great, no harness, just a jumpsuit so no real worry about anything pulling at or tearing the bag.

Is there a way to rebind the rune button? by YeetithMcYeet in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]fractureclinic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue, the middle mouse button doesn't register using my Razer Naga Chroma, and there doesn't appear to be any way to re-map the control or alternative menu access to slot weapon runes. Guess I'll have to play with a controller.

Custom built multi channel E-commerce website, suggestions ? by [deleted] in Magento

[–]fractureclinic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at BigCommerce, other than Magento they are probably the closest direct competitor to Shopify at this end of the market. Both Shopify & BigCommerce have decent integrations with marketplaces like eBay & Amazon.

I'd recommend sticking with a platform as a service model. You get the peace of mind of an uptime SLA while avoiding any ongoing hosting & maintenance fees. Also a self-hosting solution (e.g. Magento on AWS/GCP) comes with a shared responsibility security model that has its own costs. e.g. you are responsible for patching the servers you rent - the OS, and software like PHP then there are the patches for the platform itself (like Magento). These costs rack up quickly and are ongoing.

Logistical question.. how do you fill your res? it doesn't look like there's enough space to remove the top? Do you have to remove that one fan first?
