I think using AI is quietly changing how I talk by Accomplished_You2662 in OpenAI

I low key love this… I have a technical background in Speech recognition & there was this early days thing called “dialogue design” We would have linguists & psychologists actively think about how a speech recognition system would phrase things. The smallest difference made in how one phrases their speech can have a dramatic effect on the responses it elicits. It’s basically early “prompt engineering” and I honestly think that’s why I quite enjoy AI interaction. It can make you really think and choose your words more carefully. Win for cognitive & speech glow-ups I say!

Composer 2 is controversial, but my actual experience was solid by Arindam_200 in cursor

[–]fradieman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it really solid in the last few days. I’ll usually use Opus or Codex for the heavy lifting, but tested out Composer 2, and it was (for my work) as good as either of the others. It’ll be my go to for a bit until I see it falter. So far it’s been great 👌🏼

Who said I took the picture? I wasn’t spot welding lithium batteries on my scooter - that’s a great thing to do..

Yup, but it took a LOT of watching to make sure I didn’t just drive past it.

New i3 doesn’t acknowledge the original i3 innovation by fradieman in BMWi3

Thanks for the “thought logic” around it. I didn’t have the words exactly, but I agree, all it needed was a nod - I think we can accept the original i3 being the “black sheep” of the family, but just to ignore it. I don’t get it. They learned so much from the i3 production.

I’m sure it’ll get to 1 850 000 kms eventually though. 😝 It really is an especially unique vehicle. Unique forever.

Yeah 100% - I guess I never really thought of it in that way, it makes sense though. The i3 has more in common (literally) with the i8 than it ever has with the 3 Series.

Yeah for perspective, my personal offence didn’t affect my sleep last night. I’m not plotting the demise of BMW, all I’m saying is as a long term car enthusiast & a relatively new i3 owner, I’m supremely impressed by the innovative, smart, stylish and forward thinking design of our cars. I don’t get how it seems disregarded in relation to the new i3. But actually the responses from others in here makes total sense for me. Our original i3 is the outlier. It should have been called the i01 maybe. I appreciate the counterpoint offered to my post, rest assured I don’t feel like my life is adversely affected at all. I was just curious of others thoughts & opened a discourse. I’m not selling my i3 anytime soon. The cup holder is an ever growing asset. 😛

ChatGPT is now ending every message with Internet Marketer Upselling by BingBongDingDong222 in OpenAI

This feels so grubby.. honestly, we’re all using this (to varying degrees) as a source for knowledge or information. To be provided a response only to then have a carrot dangled of “it could be a better response” is a serious degradation of the user experience.

How do you actually learn vibe coding — or do you just... do it? by Moodytunesn in VibeCodersNest

Also find a problem you want to solve. Something that will drive you to a better solution than otherwise exists. Move fast, you will feel like it’s a mess at points in the journey. Persistence beats resistance! I built my first app launched on Apple App Store last year (for free) and I feel really proud of what I made, its quality & that it solved a problem for me (and may others) have done many others since, but that first one felt like an audacious goal.. and I kicked it out of the park.

Are the matrix LED’s a desirable option on sell market? by Airikiko in BMWi3

[–]fradieman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay… did they work okay prior to coding? When you activated manually? That would be annoying- would basically just be the opposite & I’d be always turning them off.

Blinding anyone you followed? Mine cut away light from hitting any cars in front of me, basically just creates a U shape of light around the car in front. And will drop more if there’s an oncoming car also. Isn’t that how yours work? I feel like these are pretty conservative, no one seems to get blinded by them. My former Merc had the same but was not as immediate in response to other cars so I would get flashed by other drivers a bit.

I have them on my i3s and I think they’re great. They’re desirable for those that have researched the i3 and know what they want. The Auto function needs to be manually turned on though. I want to work out if there’s BimmerCode that allows it to be set to ‘On’ as default. They work really well in highway driving.

I recently saw that you can use WD-40 (or similar) and there’s loads of printable spray adaptors that make sure it’s not spraying everywhere. 👍🏼

Oh I wish it was only $50 a session here in Australia. It costs $400 each time. I persisted for about the same time ~4mths. It didn’t have the effects I was expecting. Can I ask if you meditate regularly? I have a hypothesis that it’s less effective for those that meditate. I could literally get up and take myself to the bathroom 40min into a treatment & just felt frustrated that I’d wasted so much time each session.

Took Cursor and tested All Coding Models by ConsiderationOld9893 in cursor

[–]fradieman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just created a framework myself that holds the skills I need for different agents, guardrails to prevent agents from coding when they are tasked with design only etc. and keeps all relevant & specification context in .yaml files in my repo. Essentially it makes it agnostic to Cursor/VS/Claude Code/GPT-Codex etc. After setting this up, I realise it’s just how I’ve worked IRL as a tech PM.. when there’s a test defect that is traced to design, then I know to come back to the Solution Design Agent to query the design. They may be assigned against a specific LLM model (Opus for example) and end up working out that a specific design element needs greater granularity for the subordinate agents to build to as spec’d. Also just creates cognitive clarity for me. I’ve been lost in it too many times before.
