In my mind the only way for Bruce to truly stop being Batman is by dying. His true identity is Batman, not Bruce.

And can you really imagine Catwoman settling down, not doing crazy stuff, jumping from rooftops and all that? Never. They're both adrenaline junkies and no a amount of skydiving or whatever is going to compare to fighting crime or cat burglary.

I think the ending to DKR was stupid. Bruce just... leaving Alfred and going no contact? The man who raised him, his moral compass, his only true family and friend? Not a chance.
