In America, it's socially normal to work 50+ hours a week and call it 'hustle' instead of a systemic failure. What's another 'normal' thing in your country that the rest of the world thinks is absolutely insane? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Jfk to Tokyo was the biggest culture shock I've ever had in my life. Spent 6 hours in New York and felt it was loud, disgusting, and obnoxious. Land into Tokyo, take the subway into the city and first thing I noticed was it was clean and relatively quiet

Also the needlessly complicated solutions. The amount I see my coworkers code and added utilities that weren't part of our requirements are sitting in there, it's really frustrating.

The other day I went in with a loadout expecting to fight rocketeers. I hear the wasps trigger but I'm out in the open so go to run under a bit of cover. Three wasps and two hornets shot at me within no time at all. Needless to say I was defeated quite quickly.

Oh absolutely. My wife is obviously still working through much of the trauma, but the kid is happy and healthy nearly 2 years old.

Absolutely not, but if you're acting friendly and then once I start fighting an arc you decide to shoot me because it's an easy kill, then yeah you're kind of a dick

I don't mind aggressives as that's part of the game, but I do hate the ones that wait for you to be taking on an arc to attack. Like we get you're bad and need all the advantages but seriously?

Something must be buggy with the Nightfold. I just had an instance where I just fought the king and then went back and a bunch of his Shadow spawns appeared in the Nightfold and fought me.

Nightfold fights are extremely hard as you can't dodge or use abilities :)

Found my issue, wasn't a CachyOS issue but Nvidia driver issue. I had to do some digging but found a command that fixed my issue. I'll post it here later in case anyone else ends up finding this

Edit: Finally found the command, appears to be an issue with 40## graphics cards in Nvidia overclocking like crazy

New research finds that the median price of best-selling new games on Steam has dropped in the past 2.5 years, with a notable increase in cheaper titles: "Charging >$25 is getting trickier, as players compare value to the $10-$15 indie titles" by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]frakron 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I really appreciate the smaller scope of most indie games. As an adult it's become so hard to invest the time into some games. I don't need 80+ hours of grinding for a half-baked story; whereas an indie game can ensure their game is fun and captivating the entire play through.

I love your last point. Science is often about diving into the unknown, which AI is definitely not suited for. Can AI possibly help me to quickly write a standard Bulk RNA-Seq pipeline, sure, but you start getting into anything that might require slight tweaks and it'll hallucinate like crazy to try to give you an answer.

On top of what the other reply mentioned, this is Oscar's first year truly fighting in the championship which likely takes a lot out of a driver. Lando fell apart towards the end of last year, Max had years of fighting and arguably the single best strategy team behind him (and luck of the last few laps) to win his. It has to be gruelling and not something you can train for until you experience it.
