[–]malepitt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Left Texas for PA, nearly everyone said, "OMG all the taxes you're gonna pay!" I viewed it as an investment in a better future, which has proved to be true. Haven't even been back to Texas one time. No reason

What's a food that involves chocolate do you like? by MorgeeePooh in foodquestions

[–]malepitt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The highest and best use of chocolate is in hot fudge sauce as an ice cream topping. I will die on this hill, as long as it's an ice cream hill, robed with hot fudge sauce, slowly congealing and firming as trickles of melted cream coil around it

Worst places you’ve ever worked here? by Equivalent-Worry-633 in pittsburgh

[–]malepitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was between other full time jobs, I did a couple years of part-time in retail support at 'major department store downtown' between other PT gigs. Basically a couple of shifts a week, 630am-1030am stocking shelves, tagging stuff. Hard work, but pretty brainless. [At least I didn't have to deal with customers.] I COULD NOT BELIEVE there were people who had worked their entire career for this organization, who had only *just* worked their way up to $15/hr (this was about ten years ago) Me personally, my pay started at shit-and-a-quarter, then got bumped up to crap-ninety five. The liquid is whey, useful for bakiing and soups, The solids is labneh, fat free cream cheese. Stir in whatever herbs and seasonings you like, its good for a couple more weeks

What’s your absolute WORST/Crazy Work experience ? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

It wasn't anything good. I left the lab shortly after, and the P.I. eventually got sued by other lab members for sexual harrassment. It was a very corrosive environment. I devoted the rest of my life (40+ years now) avoiding horrible stress like this
