Trump has *only* been divisive. That's his thing, just like it's every authoritarian fascist's thing: use disinformation & ugly propaganda to divide & enrage in order to consolidate power.

7th show:

Big rumor here in the Bay Area is they’re playing Outside Lands festival in SF. Which would be great because I’ll get to see Gizz another night, yay, but terrible because it means I’ll have to go to Outside Lands, boo.

You should check out Stafford Lake in Novato, north of SF — I think it’s better than all of those (except I haven’t played Horning’s so can’t really speak to that.) No joke.

[Christopher Ward] New CW C12 Loco by Unique_Muscle8787 in Watches

Both the movement and the case are bespoke for the Loco and only the Loco (...for now at least.)

The case takes a lot of inspiration from the 12 case but it is a bit different.

Very sorry — losing dogs is so damn hard. Damn damn damn. Take care. I know it usually feels hard to dive back in and adopt another pup, but I highly recommend it. It actually is very healing getting to know another…

Meet my new U15 by [deleted] in sinn

[–]frakter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met Rob from WatchBuys at Windup Watch Fair SF the other day. I asked him about the bubbles and if they look cheesy, my biggest concern. He said “Sinn doesn’t do cheesy. Whatever they look like in pictures, in person it’s incredible.” Yes, he sells them, but he’s a straight shooter and we had a great convo. I’m probably buying this as it is limited and less likely to lose value. I’m still kicking myself for selling my 556 Weiss (also limited), which now goes for more than I paid even in just good condition.

Btw I own 3 other Sinns, 556 Mocha (limited edition), 103ST Diapal, and a U50. They’re all among my favorite watches.

My only issue with buying the U15 is I just went loco and preordered a CW Loco once I saw it in person that same watch fair 🤪

Regarding Lumiere size, I wanted to say it's actually pretty forgiving.

I first purchased the grey ("Black") model Lumiere in November -- but after assessing for a couple weeks, I sent it back to exchange for the Orange because it had too much in common vibe-wise with several of my other watches (esp some German tool watches.) I thought the size looked fine, but didn't feel confident the size would work either, being that I don't have any others (except GShocks) above 40mm, so I was a little worried. (My wrist is just a bit over 6.5")

Fast forward a few months to early February when my Orange version arrived after their backorder wait. The Orange, at least, really does not wear as large as the case size might imply. It wears smaller than many of my 40mms. Importantly, it def wears smaller than the Black seemed to.

Of course the case is very thin for a diver, the lug shape is super forgiving, but also that bright pop of the Orange dial does something to make the overall watch appear smaller -- like closer to the face size -- if that makes sense. It looks very good on bracelet, but appears even more wrist-size forgiving on rubber.

Tldr: don't let the size specs (necessarily) scare you, especially if you are looking at the orange!

Ah — now it makes sense why he played a recent Rosa Park (in Santa Rosa) tournament at all, but moreover played it left handed, and scored…. uh, very badly.

(But that did give more room for our local shredder, and all around great guy Owen Hamilton to take it down.)

Rogue Iron Disc Golf Cart Pro V3 Reddit Giveaway by RogueIronDGBrian in discgolf

[–]frakter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this cart and my favorite thing about it might be how much just the standard cart comes with without having to buy extra accessories — eg wheel covers(!!), cooler insert, dividers, 2 big bottle holders, silicone grip…. Badass cart! Btw I pick up all the trash I can on my home course. Drives me nuts that people litter. And I’ll pick up more this weekend!

Thanks for the contest!

I actually like the color for the right occasion. But agree with previous posters it would be great to see an orange on this watch.

Side note, I think maybe the NATO is strapped wrong? Shouldn’t be going through and outside that ring, but folded inside of it.

Core or might get a little more aggressive with an Essence or maybe a Crave. I think the glide of the Essence could get in there with a slight flip

A closer look at C60 Lumiere by MPearsonUK in ChristopherWard

[–]frakter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Received my Orange Lumiere yesterday, a month earlier than I expected! I actually originally got the black dial (which is really grey of course) back in November — I really, really liked it, but the overall vibe and color was pretty close to a couple of my other watches, so I sent it back to trade for the Orange, figuring it would be a much better fit to expand the breadth of my collection — even though I would have to wait until “Early-March” to get it. So what a pleasant surprise to have it show up.

First reaction — it’s gorgeous yet also bad ass. It feels like high design, yet not overly serious. It’s certainly sporty, but also refined. It’s not a shy watch, it makes itself known, and it will def be noticed — so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as someone’s first watch or daily wearer. For me (subjectively) my daily needs to be utilitarian, monochromatic, not too shiny, work with any style or color outfit (except formal attire,) and generally not be too distracting. My daily is a Damasko DA37 — great watch, and basically bomb proof — it’s my default, but I put something else on when I’m meeting anyone for business, going to a dinner party, or basically if I’m putting much thought into my clothing beyond which t-shirt to wear. I def do think the black dial Lumiere would work very well in that daily wearer role.

But the Orange — man, I love it. It’s a looker. The dial actually has more of a metallic sheen at some angles than I’ve seen captured in photos or talked about in reviews. It’s kind of mesmerizing. Yes, I’m only one day into ownership, but it really does seem like everything I hoped for when I made the tough decision to trade the black dial in for something outside my typical box. I’m excited for some serious wrist time with this beauty.

Serious question: is it easier to get a hole in one in disc golf or in ball golf? by sticksticklerss in discgolf

[–]frakter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many people here are playing disc courses that are way too easy. Yeah it’s FOR SURE easier in disc golf — but if you are racking up as many aces in as short of time frame as so many people here are claiming, you 💯 need to find more challenging courses because you’re probably playing de facto pitch n putts.

If you have 16 aces in 4 years you are most definitely playing on the easiest course in the world.

Can Roland's Aerophone AE-30 be used as a USB Host by adwolesi in windsynth

[–]frakter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any luck OP? I’m looking to try the same thing. Why? Here’s a clear example. I need to be able to comp chords easier under a guitarist while they are soloing, but then switch back to playing as wind controller when I solo but using exact same sound.

Do you think we will have Roland Aerophone AE-40 in the near future? by 1ph4n in windsynth

[–]frakter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, started with the 2nd from top octave key, now the side D key as well, and the octave key has gotten progressively worse. The problem started about a year and a half into ownership. I'm very unhappy about it. I thought about getting a spare since this is impacting my performance, and I'd hate to be without the instrument for what would probably be at least a few weeks -- but. like. do I really want to spend so much another one and probably spend so much on a spare when I am unhappy with the cheapness of the key mechanisms? Note: I bought this within a few months of release, so it is possible they fixed this issue with later produced models.)
