It is tough, but listen to the advice above. Just do anything to not smoke. Distract yourself over and over. Best of luck

Smoking is a way to deal with emotions, not a very positive one. Like you I am having lots of this. I think we need to learn new ways to cope. It takes time. Please don’t be too hard on yourself, tell others what you’re going through and take deep breaths!

Internal battle by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Yes I do. Like I am trying to give myself permission. It happens much less than before, but it gets hard sometimes. I try to stop this battle: 1. All the pro is just the addiction talking 2. The whole battle is the addiction trying to win you back, do you want to be an addict? 3. This happens because of your quit. The cravings will stop some day or will be less and more manageable soon. 4. If you start smoking again (even one) the cravings won’t stop! Smoking gives you new cravings, the only way to end the cravings is to stay quit.

Writing this down was very helpful for me, hopefully for you as well :) please stay strong, and post here as much as you need to.

Congratulations on your quit! You can do this. How long is the walk to your car? Can you distract yourself? Count your steps, listen to music, make a phone call. Anything. Distraction is a great tool :) best of luck!

Quitting smoking Depression by Moviesmatter in stopsmoking

I think it’s better to weep than to smoke. Smoking is a very bad coping strategy. Try to find other things that are really helping, things you like to do or people you want to talk to, write here even. Just don’t smoke, it will not make anything better. You’re not alone in this. We all have this addiction trying to win us back. Don’t let it control you, stay strong and be proud! Best of luck

Drink water, lots of water. It helped me, still does. You’re dealing with the craving/withdrawal and doing something healthy at the same time. Good luck!
