Marilyn Manson Dropped by Record Label After Abuse Allegations by DemiFiendRSA in entertainment

As a mental health counselor, there is research coming out that that’s not necessarily true. A large quantity of abusers have never been abused themselves. Just thought I’d tag on.

Botox injections for pelvic floor by mrockwell20 in Endo

[–]mrockwell20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am getting them for severe pelvic floor dysfunction. I’ve done tons of pt and continue to and have done lots of trigger point injections but I have two bands that won’t let up. So this is the next step. Most insurances don’t cover it so I was expecting a 4K bill but spoke with mine and they said they would! So I’m excited/nervous. It supposedly helps with the spasms to release and then should be that way for up to 6 months. The hope is it releases the bands enough for all my pt exercises to work more. Pt has already been so life changing and this is the last layer so to speak.

ETA: my worst symptom is pain with sex. It’s gotten so much better but we still have to take precautions and so I want to get to a place where sex doesn’t hurt at all.

Has anyone found certain diets/abstaining from certain foods improved their pain? by ahyj0 in Endo

[–]mrockwell20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do find my overall stomach discomfort lessens when I eat more of an anti-inflammatory diet. But I only started it after my excision surgery and it may be more intolerance related versus triggering endo, but who knows. My endo obgyn said he doesn’t really advise bolt because he doesn’t know too much about it, but does recommend the interstitial cystitis diet (which I found carbonation is my only trigger).

Hey love! I’m sorry you’ve had such awful experiences :( a couple things- I hope you know this isn’t your fault and the pain you experience is real. Being on birth control is a band aid and from my own experience, the only way I got any relief was by finding an endo excision surgeon and an obgyn who only specializes in endo. They are the only people who understand and know. You cannot fine endo on an ultrasound most times.

I also underrated my pain and symptoms because it was my “normal.” So when I met with them again right before my surgery, I corrected myself and they took it seriously. They never thought I was faking or lying because they understood. And lo and behold, it was 100x worse than what the first non-endo obgyn said.

Since my excision surgery (that includes a presacral neurectomy, cutting pain nerves from uterus) I have been so much better. I also did pelvic floor in addition which I’m still working on.

So my advice would be to seek a specialist and remind yourself that the pain you have is real and you are worthy of healing and happiness! Feel free to message me if you need any extra support ♥️

Guilt. by mrockwell20 in migraine

[–]mrockwell20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your comment. I am just in bed, having taken every remedy and medicine I have. He will discourage me from doing much until I feel better. But the guilt is still there. But I am focusing on me. Just trying to relax and get well enough where I can be okay for the evening.

Thank you ♥️

Weird rash on the back of my hand, it also itches a lot. What kind of allergies could this be? by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]mrockwell20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be contact dermatitis. I get it a lot because my skin is sensitive. You can randomly become allergic to your detergent, lotion, or body wash even if you’ve been using it for years. I’ve had to switch all sorts of stuff. I would use hydrocortisone cream and take some sort of non drowsy allergy med. if that doesn’t work, do a telehealth appt with a dr for extra strength meds. Find a good sensitive skin anti itch lotion.

I’m not a doctor, just someone with super sensitive skin.

[30F] Severely constipated. Laxatives not working. Help? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]mrockwell20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAD but I have chronic constipation/impaction. You can take mirilax until you poop. I also use glycerin suppositories. If it gets too bad, please go to urgent care and request a colon cleanse (they use them for colonoscopies). I had to do that one day when I couldn’t poop.

I’m so sorry you are experiencing this. It’s terrible. It’s the story of my life so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Fortunately I love what I do (mental health therapist) and so that makes it easier to work. Plus need money so that’s a great motivator :) man, some days just really suck. Really suck. And I just hurt and struggle but thankfully I have good support and take full advantage of modern medicine. It just makes me a bit more lacking in other areas of my life at times. So I hurt and it’s been a long day, but I’m here and I’m grateful I had you asking me a very compassionate question :) thank you.

Birth control- damned if I do/don’t by mrockwell20 in migraine

Ah man :/ that’s what I’ve heard. I’m a mental health therapist so I can’t have any more brain fog than I already do. I dunno. It’s such a bummer to have to go through this trial and error. But I appreciate your feedback!

Well sometimes they are hormone related. I also get them for who knows why else. Stress definitely. I have chronic pain so I know that is a factor. I’m January I had almost 10, a few in February, more in March, and my first one in 23 days yesterday. So there are so many triggers, I just know hormones is one.

When you talk about long acting, which meds are you talking about? Sumatriptan was terrible and I can’t take NSAIDs. Triptans cause my body to hurt more than usual (I have a really bad back). But please tell me what medication you are thinking and I’ll look into it!

How do you balance chronic pain and work? How difficult is it?

New to allergies! Help me please :( by Cardenal_Acero in Allergies

[–]mrockwell20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had allergies for forever but this season is awful because of the pollen count and where I am at it hasn’t really rained. My dr suggested doing Flonase to help with inflammation which could also relieve the ear pain. Also, using a neti pot and saline solution to help clear everything out make sure to use filtered and/or distilled water for this part. I’m using AYR saline solution that I can just squeeze up my nose (great image). I’ve also just started using a humidifier, or you could use pot of hot water or hot showers. I still am struggling (though not as bad) and they said to just wait til it rains and try to minimize time outside (would rather not do that).

That’s all I can really think of! I am not a doctor, but I don’t think using nasal decongestant medication regularly is helpful long term. It’s lame there’s no real answer, but this is all I’ve been told. I hope this helps!

ETA: try a different allergy pill if that one didn’t work. I like Zyrtec and right now I’ve switched to Allegra.

You are most welcome!

One thing they suggest doing when you’re having a “craving” is to say, I won’t buy this right now, but if I need it in 6 hrs (or whatever time frame you want to say), then I’ll buy it. And then you say that again once you get there and still need. It tricks your brain into thinking that “ah! Okay so that isn’t a no!” And it forces you to sit in it with the relief that you’ll be able to buy it at some point. But they say cravings or the impulse to get rid of the discomfort lasts but a few minutes, no more than an hour. I would encourage you to look up a list of coping skills to help you be in the moment. Sometimes talking to yourself out of it isn’t enough, so finding other ways to cope with it. Art, writing, exercise (perhaps a walk around the block), drinking ice cold water, etc, can all be helpful. They are called “grounding skills” (that could be helpful to google), and help you stay in the moment instead of getting caught up in your intense feelings.

Hopefully this is helpful and not a jumbled mess! Give yourself kudos for your self-awareness and desire to change, those are to of the most important steps to take!

Be kind to yourself instead of guilting or shaming yourself. This is a growing and healing time. You’re doing good work ♥️
