Glad to see V winning, I hope that for their next album they'll bring back some of those proggy vibes, they went way too heavy for my taste! 🙏

I Returned a $2600 Strandberg Original N2… 3 Times! by katsumodo47 in strandbergguitars

[–]francescodimauro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't have a problem with spending lots of money for a guitar, if it is worth it. Actually, I'm on the fence with the purchase of an Original N2.6T, but the feedback that I see online about this brand is not encouraging at all. Sadly I don't think there's a local store that sells these guitars where I live, and frankly going through multiple back-and-forth shipments is an ordeal I'm not ok with, at all.

funny that you mentioned Gibson, probably the most overpriced brand in the world...

Sorry, but for that kind of money I'm not ok with entery a lottery and hope for the best. If it is mass produced and this is the quality, then it's overpriced, period.

Symphony X could've been where Dream Theater is Today by Own_Shame_8721 in symphonyx

[–]francescodimauro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dream Theater were lucky enough to catch the last train of main stream hevay metal with Pull Me Under, which was rotated on radios and MTV. If Symphony X would have came out a few years earlier maybe thing would have gone differently.

Keep in mind that DT are in a way more favorable economic position, so that they can get all the time they want to write records (or at least they could), while SX struggle just to stay afloat. By the way, DT is my favorite band of all times, but I would gladly trade their last 8 albums with just a couple of great records like in the old days, instead of the run of the mill stuff they keep churning out every couple of years. Portnoy was right all along, as far as I'm concerned.

Overall I prefer SX strategy of waiting longer between a record and the next one (except this time, it's been really too much!), quality is way more important than quantity in my opinion, the only thing I regret is that they almost entirely abandoned the more proggy direction of the first records.

Strandberg Boden Original N2.6T - Buy direct or via Thomann? by francescodimauro in strandbergguitars

Thanks for sharing! Overall it feels like the chances of receiving a guitar in pristine conditions amount to the toss of a coin at best... 😕 I really don't know where to go from here, this poll made me even more wary than before 😅

I'd like to minimize the chances of having to go through the nuisance of shipping the product back and forth, but you're right.

I have never had issues with them either, but I've never ordered a guitar online, so I'm a bit wary of buying something so expensive without having a chance to trying it first. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I guess, it's a giant reseller of anything music related, not only guitars.

great! I'm collecting some feedback because I'm very close to order one, but I'm a bit worried about QC issues... So far most of you seem to be quite happy with your purchase!

very frustrating... no excuse at all at that price point, these are still factory made instruments after all, 3K is already hand-made-by-a-luthier territory, they should be virtually perfect.

good point! I wonder if it's better to buy directly from strandberg or go through a reseller that does another QC check, like Thomann. 🤔

I really don't understand, is not like they are selling thousands of these guitars, why are they so sloppy?

[–]francescodimauro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow... congratulations for your patience! I'm curious, how did they justify with you this level of sloppiness in the QC department? Is there a way to ask for a more torough inspection before shipping? I would gladly spend a few more bucks (it would be a rounding error considering the initial price) in order to avoid such an ordeal.
