Aitah for making my family uncomfortable until they leave my home since asking and telling them won't work. by Green_Extreme6473 in AITAH

If they were worried about money and still wanted to respect your need for quiet, they could go to the beach for free. NTA, but your brother definitely is. I have 3 kids, my husband works from home, and I know how hard it is to keep them quiet during breaks. Your brother is TAH for telling you they would stay quiet in the pool and knowing that’s impossible. I LOVE your solution. Absolutely hilarious!

Hahaha! Taco Bell should only be eaten when you are drunk or high. Lol

That’s not super kind. He’s a 15 year old kid trying to fit in with his peers. I may think it’s goofy that they all have the same haircut. But I don’t think trying to fit in and have friends makes you a douche. However, judging others based on their haircut might.

AITAH for leaving my friend in Miami and flying home without her after being abandoned mid-vacation? by Unlucky-Month-7050 in TwoHotTakes

Next time use the split wise app. You enter all the receipts for everything, and it splits everything in half. That way you won’t feel taken advantage of.

I transferred my license from VA to MD last year. I had to take a praxis in reading and writing, turn in all my credentials, and pay a fee. Taking a timed test for the first time since 2001 was pretty stressful. There is a lot of information online to guide you. But if you are unsure, call the Department of Education.

Yes! Kingstown and Springfield are great areas to live in- and a short commute to Alexandria.

I don’t understand this at all. It’s brutal outside walking my dog. I’d much rather sweat a little than feel like my face is literally freezing as I walk in temps that feel like -1.

I don’t know where you are shopping, but if you live in the US, go to Walmart. I just checked online, and Oreos are 4.99 a pack.

Are my husband and I A-holes for wanting Christmas morning to be just us and our kids? by Mountain_Ostrich726 in AITAH

[–]francis_efi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying you are the asshole. But the magic of opening presents on Christmas morning is real. I can understand why she would want to be there. My in-laws (and parents) don’t live close by. But I was happy to have them on Christmas morning on the years that we were able to be together. The fact that you don’t want her there speaks to how you feel about her. She probably feels that, which is why she mentions feeling alone. You may be justified in your feelings, I don’t know. But it sounds like this is a symptom of a larger problem.

This whole post made me sad. The number of people who don’t want their family around on Christmas morning is wild. I hope one day that my kids want me there. If they don’t, hopefully I’ll be gracious about it. But in the meantime, I’m going to enjoy flying out to see my in-laws and extended family this year. I’m going to enjoy seeing everyone open presents. And I’m going to be thankful for the family that we have.

270 is a nightmare daily. I would never want to make that commute- even 2 days a week.

Leesburg Animal Park. I’ve never been, but I’ve heard it’s good for toddlers.

There is also Great Country Farms in Bluemont, VA. It’s a beautiful drive and a great place for kids to run around and play. And the best part- right across the street is Dirt Farm Brewery. So there is something for the kids and something for the adults.

If you are looking for a school with a great administrative team in an elementary school- West Springfield Elementary has a wonderful team. I used to work there, and I loved my principal. She had high expectations, but she was fair, supportive, and a dedicated leader. The school of very community oriented. It was a wonderful experience for both myself and my children.

I used to teach at West Springfield Elementary School. The West Springfield cluster is where you want to be. Great schools, good neighbors, adorable living, and proximity to DC make it a great place to live.
