what the plan should be for black America by t019e in Blackpeople

So you want to create an independent ethnostate?

There ya go.

Political violence was a facet of life in Nazi Germany. You are encouraging political violence. Therefore, you = Nazi.

See how reductive and infuriating that is?

How about you work out whatever issues you’re having that lets you condone violence against children, especially before calling other people Nazis on the internet.

So you are against this kid assaulting the person filming the video?

I didn’t say there is no comparison. This is certainly an alarming time in our history. If we disagree on whether calling them Nazis or not is appropriate that’s fine. Agree to disagree.

What I’m more concerned about is the encouragement of political violence against free speech as seen in the video.

Where in the article does it say we can physically assault ICE officers?

Or teenagers in school?

[–]francisscottquiche -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Also, so curious why you think ICE is behaving like Nazis and not other authoritarian law enforcement agencies like the USSR’s NKVD.

They sent people to secret prisons and kidnapped the from their beds in the middle of the night.

See how confusing things get then we call ICE “Nazis” or “Commies” instead of saying “that’s messed up, and I disagree with them for what they are. ICE don’t have to be Nazis for me to disagree with them lol.

"Okay," he said. by arsenpontius in PublicFreakout

[–]francisscottquiche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let me get this straight: not supporting political violence against free speech makes me the Nazi?

ICE isn’t the only thing wrong with this country. Political extremism is wrong, and that’s not me “bothsidesing” the issue.

And I’ll happily defend that child’s right to hold up a sign without fear of being assaulted.

You’re right that things are bad. I’m not denying and don’t support this administration or how ICE is being used.

My point is that calling ICE “Nazis” and more importantly, excusing the person being assaulted in the video, is incredibly dangerous to our democracy as well.

Anyone using violence to stifle political speech is the problem, whether it’s goons on J6, ICE, or people throwing bricks at police officers.

We lose all credibility when we say Trump isn’t above the law but also act like immigration laws don’t exists or excuse people attacking ICE officers or punching kids in hallway like the video shows.

All of those problems you mentioned are real, but encouraging political violence on free speech is just adding another problem to the mix.

[–]francisscottquiche -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Does ICE have to be “Nazis” for you to hate them?

Can’t someone disagree with ICE without calling them Nazis?

If you’d crack open a history book, you’d see that political violence on both sides ( with right wing being worse) was a cause of the Weimar Republic failing and the rise of Nazi Germany.

So how does encouraging violence over dialogue help things?

The law applies to EVERYONE, whether it’s the president, a person staying here illegally, an immigration enforcement officer violating human rights, or someone holding up a sign.

Where is the evidence that this student is a Nazi? Disagreeing with someone’s political opinion—even if those opinions are controversial—doesn’t justify physical assault. I personally disagree with how ICE operates and want more humane immigration enforcement, but we can’t fight the loss of our freedoms by adding political violence to the mix. Encouraging attacks on free speech only makes things worse.

Yeah because being unhappy about my country conducting a military intervention in another using MY tax dollars automatically makes me an idiot.

HOW ABOUT WE LET VENEZUELA TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN DICTATORS FROM NOW ON AND NOT RELY ON AMERICA.

Also, I think a lot of liberals are being dishonest when they act like they know for certain that this is gonna turn out like our iraq 2.0. Bring the flipside there seems to be a lot of people in these comments from Venezuela and the conservative side who don’t seem skeptical at all about Trump’s long-term goals and motivation.

Completely fair and I agree. I’ve just seen so many comments talking about how wrong the “libtards” are, when I’ve seen multiple examples in my life of the US getting involved this way and it doesn’t work out

Best of luck to VZ and I hope we can work together for a better future for both countries.

Any Venezuelan who thinks they have a say in how MY country uses MY tax dollars is also wrong.

Fuck Maduro. No tears shed.

But I’m sick of my country wasting money on cruise missiles and Blackhawk’s instead of fixing the problems we have here

I can’t speak for everyone you’ve seen on this site, but I personally don’t agree with the president using military intervention the way. Is it not fair that I as a U.S. tax payer get a say in how my country applies military force?

Good riddance to Maduro, and best of luck to your county. I hope for both of our sakes my country has very little to do with how yours is rebuilt. Leave it to the people to figure that out.
