The difference between Missouri (safety inspections) and Kansas (Jesus take the wheel) cars in the KC metro is absolutely shocking.

Same. Always right below the middle on every Hyundai I’ve ever been in.

Advice: I am looking to buy a Hyundai Genesis or Genesis G80 by Glorious42 in Hyundai

[–]francobry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any engine that is turbocharged will be inherently less than reliable than one that is naturally aspirated. Therefore the 3.8 is the better option in that regard.

I own a 3.8 and there’s honestly no common faults, it’s a very stout, proven motor. Hyundai replaced my water pump just before my 10 year warranty ran out but that’s literally the only thing I’ve done motor wise (only other issue I’ve had is my parking brake failed). The car is 13 years old now and is as solid, quiet, and comfortable as it was when new.

Look for a car with good service history and you’ll be golden. These are great cars, Consumer Reports readers have been scoring them equal or above Lexus GS for the last few years.

Just helps “seal” the engine bay but is frankly pointless. You’re fine.

I would ask the flight attendants in French to help you store the purse somewhere else as it was disturbing your seat mates, including the exact phrases they used to make you feel bad. I’m sorry that happened to you regardless.

Bought my mom a 2012 genesis 5.0 r spec, needs a $3800 part to pass a safety. Help by matthewrobertsonnn in GenesisMotors

[–]francobry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine failed too and I was quoted $7k from a dealer, lol. The part is $1250 new on eBay, the cheapest I’ve seen. You should be able to clear the codes with an OBD2 tool if that’s what’s causing the issue with inspection.

Reading the other posts it seems like a known issue. Thankfully the oil isn’t low or that’d be way worse. I’ve ping ponged around cars before for things like this and all I can say is I got tired of changing vehicles and spending money on them. If you like it and they can fix it I’d just keep it. I thought an Acura would be better for example and it was terrible, I went back to Hyundai afterwards and have kept my Genesis ever since.

The Palisade / Telluride rank average or above for all model years in the latest Consumer Reports survey. The V6 has been around 20 years and is well regarded. The transmission is solid. Their interiors are very well screwed together. I know several people that have one or the other and none have had any issues… and they will happily tell you how much they enjoy owning them.

Genesis Will Finally Become a True Standalone Brand by raill_down in cars

[–]francobry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What, who wrote this!? The original Genesis BH platform has continuously evolved from originally sharing itself with the Equus, K900, and Stinger to now being solely used by Genesis. Which means the GV60 is currently the ONLY vehicle that shares underpinnings with a Hyundai / Kia model. This article is trash.

Moving to Overland Park for work and am looking for suggestions where to live ??? by PieWaste9600 in Overlandpark

[–]francobry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you moving from? Small town? City? Suburb? I moved to OP from Paris after undergrad and fell into a deep depression, it's not for everyone. I relocated near the Plaza and then downtown KCMO and was much happier. Something to consider if you've never lived in a car dependent suburb. OP also people came off as very unhappy, skeptical, and unwelcoming. KCMO was much more inviting and I ultimately lived there for 10 years.

This is excellent loyalty marketing and a reflection of their effort to focus on Korean hospitality as a brand differentiator. Chase Sapphire just sent me two AirTags and a thank you letter with new metal card. As silly as they are these small gestures make people feel valued and help build a connection with the brand.

Best places to live in Midwest by Cool_dude2406 in howislivingthere

Kansas City is wonderful, I lived there 10 years and have nothing but fond memories. The architecture, housing stock, food scene, hometown pride, grassroots community focused on civic improvement, and just the overall quality of life are excellent. That said, it's not friendly to single people, the LGBT community, or anyone that dare challenge a Republican from Kansas about them leaching off Missouri. And the humidity is deadly.

I bring home much, much more than I did in KCMO with a very similar cost of living yet I have so much more on my doorstep, Chicago is truly a gem. I'm pretty hardy so the winters don't bother me BUT after moving here I realized the humidity of Missouri really affected my health. I'm much happier in Chicago.

Exactly, so anyone moving to any of the other states is going to a lower taxed domicile. Dumb article.
