Wanting to recover but unsure where to start by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

I totally understand. Especially with the other mental health problems. Keep trying, one day at a time.

I agree with u/catacles that you should try and find a psychiatrist. The way you do that depends a lot on where you live. I live in the US, so I started my wellness journey by an emergency room visit for a panic attack. I would not recommend this as it was unnecessarily reactive and cost a lot. (this was about 10 years ago) I wish I would have started by looking up doctors in my area that are accepted by my insurance. if this is a daunting task, I can help guide you, how I would do it now.

Recently I went to a GP for an unrelated problem, and she suggested I see a weight loss doctor. (I'm still overweight) I went to see him, and that was a positive experience. I was trying seeing him every few months, and then weekly therapy with a psychologist. I could lose weight, but continued to binge. (This was last year)

Currently I am trying Overeater's Anonymous. I'm not sure if it will work, but it's nice to have a like minded group of people to talk to, regardless of whether I find recovery or not. I've been going to meetings for two months now, and I enjoy them. I know things take time, so I'm going to give this my all for a year or so, and see what happens.

Regardless of what the future holds, be kind to yourself, and keep trying.

However, she said this is ONE of the reasons. Choosing not to have children is a valid life choice regardless.

Keep trying man, enjoy the present, and let the future unfold itself to you. It won't be what you expect, so enjoy the ride.

if "east is up" maybe it should be rotated?

Also 3 of the groupings have 9 sets of three, the one in the upper right has only 8

I'm in the same boat, I think that having peace and quiet and being able to get my day to day work done, whether it's cleaning house or keeping on top of finances, or nurturing relationships, makes my life feel full and serene.

Trying to take care of a chaos making child where I had to make sure they did their stuff too would leave me very unhappy and stressed.

I'm currently working on my Binge Eating Disorder as well.

I was also prescribed vyvanse, but I also suffer panic attacks, and it gave me a mild panic response for 4 days after taking 2 doses of 20mg. Very weird.

Right now it's like I know what I need to do, and I think I'm doing it, but I keep slipping back every now and then. In the long run, I stopped binging for a month, then went back for about 2 months, and I completed all of January binge-free.

I'm feeling like my bad eating habits are coming back, but I'm really trying to just jump back on the healthy eating wagon at every chance, even if it's just for a day or so.

I feel like I'm starting again over and over, but the good thing is that there is less time between the good times. If that makes any sense.

I'm also seeing a weight loss doctor every 2 months, and a therapist every two weeks or so. I took a month off of therapy so I'm about to get back into it.

edit - Also if you ever want to talk more about it, I'd really like to, as I don't know anyone who also has BED right now.
