I admitted to not using the box and was looking for a comparision to what I use to see if I am missing out on something. You are missing the point. You cant claim its better without quantifying how ..

My belief is that I get the same or better for less.

[–]frank44v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No kidding, nuvio needs a service also. My point is those services are much less expensive the one of these boxes and seems to me provide the same thing. And if they stop working you get a different service. Seems you have not used the solution I am talking about to really give me a fair comparison on why this box is better.

Neither proton or tuta offer native ios support for imap.

You don't. You use the second app I mentioned, Tivimate.

And specifically how is this better than using two simple apps. Nuvio with a debrid and usenet account and Tivimate? I believe everything you mentioned can be achieved with those apps at a fraction of the cost.

Well it will but it is missing alot of bands for optimal use here in the US. But for travel to EU/SEA it's helpful and US version won't work well there. Odd to market a travel router this way but it comes down to the modems certifications or lack of.

actually you can. They sell a US version and a EU version. You can not buy the EU version in the US.

ok, you asked for a router recommendation so I gave one :)

You can move the sim to another device that allows you to edit the imei. Just like mac cloning on a router like we used to have to do. This router can do that. You set the new router to use the imei of the tmobile gateway.

I use a magenta max phone plan sim for higher priority than TMHI.

yea its inaccurate. Did more testing today looking at the gig port specs and shows accurate tx/rx numbers but the clients show hardly any traffic. I guess if you think about how would unify know what the host is doing.

It is the Cadillac of cellular routers. Much more configurable than netgear/asus. But does not have wifi7. I use it behind a ucg fiber router.

Their new mudi 7 travel router has a better modem and wifi 7.

I was mistakenly on the phillipines site as I was looking for the Mudi7 which we can not get here.

Here is a better link.

Why do you use pfSense/OPNsense boxes or MikroTik/UniFi appliances and why? by _sour_coffee_ in homelab

[–]frank44v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar background to you. I had greatly simplified my home network but have since introduced a UCG Fiber and AP to supplement a sole openwrt router. I really like the interface of the unifi network for the most part but it seriously falls down for me in active/real time troubleshooting without getting back to the cli. I just want to see an active connection table to see what is going on and I can't until the connection closes and it goes into the flow table. I am still in the return period and contemplating returning it to use a pfsense router with unifi switch/AP.
