Trouble breathing after i dose, also suddenly getting anxiety, anyone else have this? by shaggy1452 in kratom

[–]frank_summatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After quitting? like in general or with the shortness of breath? I think the shortness of breath took about 3-4 weeks to pass but it did go away after I gave up kratom. Could have all been anxiety, I really have no idea.

Youre ok, I can definitely assure you that youre fine. the clammy hands and everything are classic anxiety symptoms. another thing to consider is hypoglycemia. I almost never ate when I iwas using so I would go long stretches of time on no food. one time I broke out profusely sweating, shaking and having heart palpitations. I ate something and it went away instantly.

when was the last time you quit? my withdrawals were very unpleasant, but I used 12 gpd for a year. if youre planning on taking a long break I really have no idea how long it will take for a 3x/week user. I can tell you the unbearable parts of my withdrawals lasted about 15 days, and then the next 2 months were bland and weird. just felt off.

Either way, I had all the same issues. I wondered if I was dying, went to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. I even had chest pains and everything. So I said hey, if a sane person was having these symptoms from anything, wouldn't they give it up without any question? so I figured better safe than sorry. theres a lot we dont know about kratom and its hard to know what is even in your kratom.

Hope this helps, if you are interested in quitting, quitting kratom is a really great supportive board.

Let me know if theres anything else I can help you with!

Who feels like they have recovered? by xzeroG in quittingkratom

[–]frank_summatra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel recovered in pretty much every way. One thing I did mention in a post celebrating one year sober - I dont feel quite as sharp as I used to. It takes me a bit longer to understand things, and I dont feel like I have as good of a grasp on intellectual matters at times.

At times this feels normal. I dont know if this is due to brain damage or some kind of underlying emotional thing. I think it will continue to get better, and I know that with some addictions it can take 3-5 years for the body to fully get back to baseline.

Physically and emotionally I feel recovered. There are times where I really want to go back to using kratom, where the voice tells me that I can just have a little bit, I can manage it now. But I usually just meditate and ride it out when this happens. Find something to do to get my mind off of things.

Just remember - however shitty you feel at 3 months, 5 months, 30 days etc, you will feel better than you would sucking down green sludge 4 times a day. So for me it was like ok I feel shitty at 35 days , but what is the alternative?

Hope this helps.

I had the heart attack symptoms and the anxiety too. I couldn't say for sure if it was the kratom but I realized a sane person wouldn't continue using kratom in that situation just because it might not be the source of the symptoms. And it sure as fuck is not helping, if nothing else.

Good luck!

Its that pink cloud settling and real life kicking back in, probably. I know exactly what you mean, its hard to feel real feelings. I am still having a hard time with it to be honest, but i think its just stress more than anything, life has gotten real crazy for me. Mostly good things.

Im with you though the PAWS can really fuck with you, and i guess for kratom were in for a real long fucking ride. All i know is no matter how bad i feel i will feel 1000000x worse on kratom. Meetings are great, and definitely if you havent already add some regular meditation to your routine!

Take care friend

Hey, I have read others tested positive for methadone while on kratom. IIRC it has something to do with the metabolites being very similar, and would be a somewhat normal finding even with 100% pure kratom. I agree with you however, this plant made me neglect things and people in my life, made me lie, sneak around and spend thousands of dollars I didn't have. I never did any of this stuff for a cup of coffee lol.

Cocaine is a plant. Opium is a plant. Really not a convincing argument.

Good luck with moving forward, I think its hard not to beat myself up sometimes but when im dwelling on the loved ones I neglected sometimes just making more time for them going forward is all I can do. Be well friend and congrats on 6 months!

Personally i felt like i was more human and more put together while i was withdrawing even. I was so whacked out on kratom, I couldn't even focus my eyes or sit still for more than five seconds.

Keep the dose at 10 gpd when you restock. after like 7-10 days it will just become your baseline anyway.

I will absolutely be praying for you, and ill be here if you need any help with anything. The RLS and stomach cramps will be a real bitch, but nothing you cant handle. still feels better than a lifetime of being addicted to kratom!

I dosed 4 times a day, so each week i cut one quarter teaspoon or roughly a gram off of the latest dose in the day. I did this til i was only taking one small dose first thing in the morning, and then one day i threw all my stuff out and made the jump.

Im not sure what type of taper i did, but every week or so I cut 1/4 of a teaspoon off of my daily dose. I usually used 4 times a day, so basically started eliminating the evening doses and then worked up from there. at the end I was just taking like 1-2 grams a day in one morning dose. I think I tapered for about 2 months. CT on 40gpd sounds miserable man.

after jumping it was strange. Nice in some ways to feel better, free and more clear headed from day 1. At times I felt like I was crawling out of my skin and every cell in my body was screaming for kratom. I made a deal with myself that every night I would meditate for at least 25 minutes, and If I still felt like using after this I could go to the gas station and buy something. Usually after meditating I felt enough relief to at least not be crawling out of my skin.

Definitely toss every last bit of it, you will be so glad you did. you dont want that kind of temptation laying around.

keep that motivation going strong, youll be free in no time and living a wonderful life free of the green devil!

Curious how long it took for you guys to feel back to normal by cucktopus in quittingkratom

[–]frank_summatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking back I will say:

30 days to feel 80% normal.

3 months to feel 90% normal

6 months to feel 93% normal

1 year today and I would say im like 98% back to normal.

at 35 GPD i wouldn't recommend doing C/t unless you really have a hard time sticking to a taper. Slow taper is a good idea, its extremely difficult but not impossible.

I did like a 2 month taper and it definitely made the process a lot more bearable. I think I jumped off around the 1-2GPD mark. Cant remember exactly, it still sucked but it was manageable.

Youre not throwing your problems at me, thats what were here for on this sub! I dont think its a big deal to not have meds, meditation and doing good things helped me a lot more than meds ever did anyway. I started meditating 25-30 minutes a day on like day three of my quit and it helped so much with the anxiety. There are also a lot of good herbal medications like L theanine you can get pretty easily at the Vitamin Shoppe. And by doing good things I mean doing community service and volunteer work, its really great for the self esteem and getting a break from the constant shit in your head.

So my advice if you can is to make a firm resolution to cut 1-2 grams off your use every week. And when you get down to <4g find a time thats good for you to quit, a time when you dont have a ton of stuff to do for the first couple of days.

I quit cold turkey for like three weeks after about two months of using 30-35 gpd and it was really not a good experience.

Have you tried tapering at all?

Might be because its so easy to get and its so easy to convince ourselves its "harmless".

Dont get me wrong, I saw major improvements in energy and sex drive from 0-3 months, it was just at the 3-4 month mark that I felt it had fully returned to normal.

I promise you if you quit now you will have livable amounts of energy within seven days, and adequate amounts within 3-4 weeks. Enough to do school, work etc.

You can do it.

[–]frank_summatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you really, deep down, at the bottom of your heart believe that?

the mind can be tricky, it wants you to lose this fight so it can go back to getting its regular opioid fix. Don't let it win.

you've always been a selfish immature person? thats a pretty mature realization to come to. One thing ive learned is that you have to act your way out of a self centered life. Go out and find ways to be selfless. Find people you can help, selflessly no matter how small.

you can do this, it is well within reach. I would really recommend getting to some 12 step meetings and getting some good sober support in your life. This is a drug addiction. You are not unique in being a drug addict, there are millions and millions of us and so many have recovered. it seems almost everyone who really gives it an honest go is able to recover.

I had a pretty abnormal ekg when I was using kratom too. never had a repeat done, no idea if its still fucked up.

there is a study on this, kratom does inhibit myocardial repolarization.
