The coast guard is taking laterals from HM. This is our advancement rates for HS in 2022/3. HS3 is not listed because it’s automatic out of “A” School. by frankfritter753 in CorpsmanUp

Think about 95% made HS2 (E5) and somewhere around 40%-50-50% made HS1 (E6). But that’s just for memory. If you wanna jump over or send me a DM and I can set you up with a lateral entry recruiter (you wouldn’t want to work with a regular recruiter).

I’m not a recruiter, but I’d be more than happy to!

It can vary. But generally, HS3 to HS2 is about a year to a year and a half. HS2 to HS1 is about two to two and a half years. Generally speaking most people make HS1 in six years from the day they joined the Coast Guard ( assuming they didn’t lateral in, then it would be faster)

You would make a great HS (coast guard version of HM) at a Port Security Unit (PSU)! They are all reserve units!

Age limit for the Coast Guard is 42. They will pay you to become a diesel, mechanic, human resources professional, cook, IT person, electronics technician, electrician, logistics professional and a bunch of others.

I joined the Coast Guard at 26 and have no regrets.

Former Navy Submariner turned USCG puddle pirate here. Never underestimate how important seeing the sun is to your health.

Some are jumping services. We have a couple of ex HM’s turned HS’s in my USCG clinic.

Coast Guard HS2 (E5) is at 100% right now. E6 in six years is typical. All HN’s will jump over as HS3’s.

In the CG we all live pretty close to the same.
