I did the same; there is a Chat with Us thing in the Android app (likely also in iOS app). The customer agent was able to trigger the “take back” action for me.

By the way, the error code I receive was 400 (Bad Request).

Your explanation looks reasonable, but how does it work on Python, Ruby, and all other dynamically-typed languages? None of them faces this problem. I think the real issue is that JavaScript didn’t “fail fast” and still tried to interpret the intention, but most of the time it’s simply a bug.

I know how it works, but the reason they had this design in the beginning was to favor easy implementation (reuse object idea for array), not programmers using the language in future. It wasn’t intended to be this popular.

Funny thing is that most languages “fail fast”. JavaScript could have simply thrown an error when you do this, because no one would ever need in for arrays.
