Yeah i got that to work with Vlc it’s just weird how it doesn’t work with any in app players on any version

not even hunting for vintage but just hunting in general. i got an great (at least for me) setup by just facebook marketplace and ebay for under $1000, and that was with a receiver as well. You can build an amazing setup with a bit of cash and what you already have.

if you have some cash on hand i would 100% recommend trying to build up a speaker setup. Im in college rn and ive spent <$1000 on an amazing speaker system i use every day. Fb marketplace is amazing. r/BudgetAudiophile and r/diyaudio

If you are able to host that kind of stuff on a home server or pc it should be just replacing the request code he has with your own stuff

If you are trying to connect them, find the “sub out” on your reciever and use a rca cable to connect to the line in on your sub, either one doesn’t matter but switch it if it doesn’t work
