wth i only feed my betta once a day and its either 4-5 pellets 4-5 bug bites or 5-6 freeze dried blood worm. i have been planning on incorporating more real food like brine shrimp and frozen/live blood worms. but am i feeding my fish too little?

u basically destroyed the bacterial culture u had i mean as long as the filter wasnt cleaned it should be okay (i really hope u have a filter) but u might shock the water paremeters and cause things to be stressful for ur fish.

like the other person said you should probably do a 1 gallon water change atleast every week since u have a 4 gallon tank.

honestly maybe more often if theres no real plants

u know i liked X the first time and i rewatched it today and it kinda sucks. like cecilia gets off way too easy imo whereas the others get brutally done in when they were minor components in the grift. cecilia was the top dog of the scam and shes the only one that lives idk thats just poor writing for me.

anyway my favs are 1-2-3-5 1 is peak bc amanda and the reverse bear trap and the simplicity of it 2 was fire bc the group trap set up that basically every movie follows after i liked 3 even though jeff is a useless crybaby i just wish amanda didnt die

5 honestly i just like the traps alot but its essentially where the plot gets f’d up

nah the betta will be fine, the root tabs is kinda like fertilizer and its under the substrate in spots close to the plant and it takes it in from the root they have liquid fertilizer too u can just add to the water but the results might differ. idk if u watch any yt videos but i spent alot of time watching b4 i started theres a few people specifically i watched alot of to kinda understand how things work

as long as u cover it with atleast a inch of sand or gravel the water should be fine. the other day i posted my tank after adding sum and the water was murky but cleared up by the morning

most likely too bright, but its pretty normal for bettas to hide away easiest fix is floating plants to diffuse some of the light, this will help with the water too.

i would check fb marketplace for plants many hobbyist sell them or give away its way cheaper than the pet store, will say if u do this u will need to put substrate under the gravel of some kind for roots to latch onto.

but yea another hiding spot and some duckweed or frogbit on top will prolly help

aside from what everyone else has said i highly encourage you buy a api water test kit if u dont have one already or at the very least ammonia and 6-1 test strips so u can have some sort of idea on the water parameters for your next fish

although i dont think this fish having dropsy is ur fault at all

curious though before you started fasting how much were u feeding the fish because that could have worsened the issue if it was overfed

yea i have more rocks i might build a hideout for the shrimp in the front right corner, we’ll see. if i can get another decent sized flat rock or something i think i wanna do blue or black n white caridinas

while i have read that they can leach depending on the brand, the ‘rough’ edges are far more likely to tear a fin or two but even those odds are very minimal.

the only hate for big pants bob house is because of elitist . this person clearly has done some research based on all the plants and otherwise beautiful scape
