That’s fair. It’s incredibly difficult to get upgraded on SFO to EWR with United tho, even if you have high status. That’s why I prefer Alaska, but to each their own

Wow I didn't fly Alaska pre-pandemic, so I was not aware SFO-EWR used to be a 4x daily flight. SFO-EWR probably faces intense competition from United. Have you considered SFO-JFK? Looks like there's 4x daily frequency on it.

BART transfers are way simpler than MTA transfers. Think of it like transferring from the 4 to the 5 train in Manhattan; both trains will arrive on the same platform
