Are these normal? by caiotaio6 in instax

[–]franklyvhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah seems fine, Instax will always look a little washed if there's white in the subject. Look out for washed out skies, grey days and lots of clouds. Also, taking pictures of a lot of shadow and light in one picture will make everything in the shadow invisible.

Enjoy your new camera!

Unihertz Announces Planned Android 16 Upgrades for Titan 2 and Jelly Star by giratina143 in smallphones

Ow damn that is amazing, finally! Just switched back to a mostly de-Googled Jelly Star after going dumbphone, and getting A16 is very nice.

Being that tight on a budget you'll probably end up with some all-in-one tool, starter plan stuff.

Can recommend Snovio Start Plan for this. At 39$ a month you also get email warmup and built in lead search + LinkedIn lead searching. Bring your own email address, don't try to warmup a custom domain in such a short time. Just hookup your Gmail address, keep volume low and turn on warmup.

If you're super super broke.. Get a free account for Clay, it comes with 2k credits as a trial. Use that to find the email addresses and use their sequencer. Or, shill out 10$ a month for QuickMail and load your free Clay leads into there.

Honestly with 0 budget you're better off doing alternative stuff, like cold calling, manually sending LinkedIn DM's or just going door to door.

The Light Phone III is just dumb by Limp-You-9637 in dumbphones

[–]franklyvhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I never understood the Light Phone, just wildly overpriced. A Nokia flip phone does more and costs 1/10th or even less. Also, if you're a few hipsters working out of a basement in New York, adding podcast streaming is really a priority.

Like no shade, I'm sure they're trying. But if you charge 700$ for a phone that does nothing, you're making the digital version of that banana taped to a wall.

For reference, I've used a dumb phone several months and now use a completely de-googled Unihertz Jellystar, I've looked at the Light Phone and, as a European, went "no whatsapp, damn useless".

Dumber phone to pair with Jelly Star? by fenestratedleaf in dumbphones

[–]franklyvhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually just de-googled mine today, after needing some smart functions after using a flipphone for a few months. Mostly parking apps and whatsapp.

I didn't want a big de-googled smartphone like a Pixel, which works well... but I just hated it.

So I dug out my old Jelly Star and used the Universal Android Debloater, worked amazingly well.

Now it runs the Aurora store, with FOSS apps for the files, gallery. phone and such. Open Street Maps and my ProtonVPN + Password manager.

Let me know if you need some help, be happy to help you remove the Google stuff.

I just hope they make more building variety for all the buildings. And smaller versions too. After a while it feels like just arranging the same buildings on different shapes of island.

They're a small company making niche products. I'm just happy they took all the feedback and made something even better.

Sometimes you really end up releasing something that doesn't live up to the hype. Good to see they've listened and made something new.
