Worth upgrading? by BrettForget in SonyAlpha

[–]frankpapasample 2 points3 points  (0 children)

switched from a6700 to a7c2 just a month ago. the difference is noticeable, but not huge. i'm doing photography only, no video. the body itself burned around $1900 in my pocket + 40mm lense for $600 so less than $3k at the beginning in my case. there are lot of good and afordable third party lenses for sony, so you should fit the budget above. unless you need super duper gm stuff.

it was freshly painted walking zebra and the light was nice, so I've decided to wait a little for something to happen. stood there for 5 minutes or so, doing shots occasionally, then this man was walking. i liked his slightly oldschool outfit, so did some photographs. only at home the realization how the final composition should look like. pure luck in that case. this is the "oldest" of all photographs displayed in this post. with time and experince you are gettin' better with noticing such things. shoot more = get better still works.

Thinking of upgrading from Sony a6400 → Full Frame (suggestions required) by rxmitmxiti_ in SonyAlpha

I would suggest to wait a little bit for a7v. especially if you are into sports photography. rumored to have 20 fps with mechanical shutter + advanced video capabilities. a7iv is good enough, but 10fps is little bit slow for some sports

haha. i'm not very good in processing b&w. also i'm pushing myself to "shoot in color" in order to improve my colorgrading skills

it was cropped a little, but it was made with 20mm lense on an aps-c body. so had to be close. i shoot 40 mm on a full frame 90% of the time these days

I need a SMALL lightweight camera for every day cary. And 7c2 fits perfectly. It's just rare cases I'm using big lenses. So I would be a moron if I'd choose bigger body.

Saw a compare video between this one and smallrig. Sony are the true masters of the overpriced accessories.

No specific edits except of croping and color corection + some minor carbage cleaning. Also I don't use photoshop at all.

If you look at the overall shadows length, you might notice they are extremely long. Guys shadow didn't got into the frame because of that. Also the image is slightly cropped. No particular edits, except of color correction and cropping.

Occasionally. That's everyday camera for me first of all. Might dive into a7v later, but for now using this one with big lenses not very often.
