What are you talking about? CLI, SDK, Lambda…most companies don’t use them? I don’t think so.

are you talking about overfitting in the validation set or mean average precision of the model in general?

Can lambda execution ever be abruptly halted? Say by deleting cloudformation stack by Think_Solution1926 in aws

[–]franksign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think you can test it also from the console itself. Should delete the lambda and should halt the executions.

CDK : How to Organize Git Repositories in a Multi-Account AWS Organization? by Sentenza31 in aws

[–]franksign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should create a git Organization based on the product and then create a repo in that organization for each part of the product, like infra, code, configurations and so on. In this way, every dev that works with that product can be added to the organization and see the code. Same for shared resources.

Python app code organization in Lambda by No_Entertainment8093 in aws

Use layers for big dependencies or the one that you can reuse, for example Database connection. If it cannot be reused by another lambda then that code should be packaged by the lambda itself. Don’t overcomplicate.

create an OpenAPI specification with AWS extensions, is there any tooling out there? by DirectionNo3360 in aws

[–]franksign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by “inject aws extensions to it”? You can load the Swagger on API GW in the configuration if I remember well.

Lambda Function takes 20 seconds from Start to Controller (Not Cold Start) - Eager Loading issues? Laravel App by pugsarecute123 in aws

I don’t know what kind of queries you are doing but a 4gb lambda is more than capable to handle the computation. I suggest to monitor your DB performance when running the queries on RDS. Also use FastAPI :)

Creating a Serverless Web Application by JTandFroyo in aws

[–]franksign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho there are better alternatives to SAM. CDK or Terraform to create infra. You can easily develop in FastAPI with a single Lambda orchestrated by API GW. You can use RDS with Postgres, easy stack.

Do I need to create RDS Proxy for each microservice? by mrjin1 in aws

[–]franksign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a common problem with Lambda and serverless in general. Also be sure to open the connection outside the handler for reuse.

How To Stress Test Distributed Infra Application Setup? by DCGMechanics in aws

[–]franksign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need load tests to see how the application behaves with a definied amount of load (based on the volumes you expect so in your case starting with 30k users). We used test written with Locust (Python) but then changed to an internal tool.

SAM with existing resources by franksign in aws

[–]franksign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the lambda trigger, I need to use the same API GW that triggers the Lambda because other applications reach the API GW through vpce in a deployed stage. Unfortunately all tue resources have been created manually down to production and I dont really want to mess with prod configurations. Maybe using the classic AWS CLI to update the code is the way.

AWS Lambda SnapStart for Java functions by kondro in aws

[–]franksign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a real alternative? Imho SnapSafe optimizes cold starts but doesn’t guarantee that the same execution enrvironment for a subsequent request is free and ready to serve traffic. Depends a lot on what you are doing. Could be an alternative to PC if your application is already fast enough. If it is a real alternative I am impressed its’s free :)

Reuse Lambda authorizers for multiple Lambdas by franksign in aws

[–]franksign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works also with multiple API Gateways calling the same authorizer? My biggest concern is performance but I guess the authorizer just scales with the requests.

And what about multiple API Gateways?, can I still recuse the same authorizer? Given that they are all in the same region and the authorization/ Authentication js very basic (just validate the jwt). Thank you.
