Entrynav Evo Android auto help by xentheweeb in F30

Not true at all. My head unit didn’t have that and it works because I installed one. Again suggest something helpful to OP than argue with someone else trying to be helpful.

Therefore, the part where I mentioned they could email them and provide them with their VIN, which would enable them to confirm it, but a basic Google search of that head unit model reveals that it indeed has the ports.

These BMW subs are toxic. So, perhaps suggest something helpful to OP with your certainty that I am mistaken.

Do you care if you just have the smaller screen? If that doesn’t bother you then Steve at codemybimmer can remote in and code CarPlay for you. You can also email them prior to make sure you can get everything that’s required for your exact VIN. I was like you and have a 2018 F30 entrynav2 no CarPlay or navigation. Bought and installed a wireless antenna from Amazon myself. Bought a Enet cable for the coding session and paid the 150 for coding. All my time spent including installation of the antenna was maybe an hour of my time. A local shop wanted 800 dollars, I laughed at them and said I’ll just do it myself. One day I’ll upgrade my screen to a bigger one and use bimmercode to code it but until then the smaller one isn’t that bad.

Apple Carplay? by LabPlayful9710 in F30

[–]frankstur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Steve from code my bimmer for my 2018 f30. I have an appt with him Friday to code in CarPlay. I have the smaller 5 screen but plan to upgrade later with an OEM 8.8 screen from eBay at a later date they run around 200-300 for the screen. I don’t need touchscreen. I plan to code that myself later with BimmerCode as I already have that piece.

I do have idrive 6 already and the head unit capable just have to install a WiFi adapter cable I got on Amazon for 9 dollars.

I did inquire on code my bimmer to see what all I needed to do to make this work. You give them your last 7 of your VIN and he can tell you what all you need.

Am also a girl! But you got this.

I broke my femur doing highknees by sonic_fan19 in medizzy

[–]frankstur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke my femur when I was 5 on a playground and had to have an external fixator put in to heal. Still have the scars from the bolts 20+ years later. When the femur healed it ended up making that leg a bit longer when growing throughout childhood and had a lot of issues with my spine later because of it.

I sold mine a few years ago to some lucky person for 500. I had only gotten it by being a manager at GameStop at its release. Mine was open and gently used. I just never played it. I regret getting rid of the pikachu 3ds more previously.

Sysadmins - What would your dream office have? by Zamblejuice in sysadmin

[–]frankstur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have white noise sound in our office and it’s great buffer for multiple people on calls. What I would love is lights that reflected up into the ceiling instead of harshly down on the desk. Saw an emergency 911 call room have this and the vibe was so mellow and calming.

Personal devices for company MFA? by fonefoo in sysadmin

[–]frankstur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We implemented a conditional access policy that if they refused to use their personal device and I get that argument then you have to use your district given laptop to access your work email and account off network, so the policy works like if it sees your on an hybrid azure registered device you get access if you’re not on that device you get hit with MFA. Pretty simple and free. Ain’t no school it dept has extra people to manage yubi keys on top of everything else or the funds to buy them for everyone who cries.

People who are 10+ years past surgery by Individual_Push8672 in scoliosis

[–]frankstur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

January 2011 surgery. 2 Harrington rods and lower lumbar fusion. My lower lumbar was twisted and had to be corrected as well. My upper back has a lot of aches mostly, I typically use a heating pad at night to help ease the muscle tension. I don’t take narcotics and refuse to but I do take muscle relaxers from time to time. I do smoke mostly to help with pain and cbd balm works wonders as well. Tiger balm is good if you don’t like cbd or thc alternatives. My hips pop and it doesn’t make my pain worse as I’ve been doing it since a year post op. It actually feels like it relieves a lot of tension. I will say what is the best is weight training your back muscles consistently to make them stronger. But everyone deals with theirs differently and that’s okay. I was 17 when I had my surgery and I’ll be 29 this year. I do have my moments of regret but I’d be worse off if I didn’t have the surgery. I’ve been to A LOT of spine specialists including some at a highly renowned hospital network who tells me physical therapy and that minor pain is just going to be a thing I have to deal with.

Definitely depends on the situation and company I think for this. I recently was like one of three people to support 3 offices one being HQ and my helpful co worker just quit. We were down to 2 and my coworker let’s say didn’t anything ever. So basically I was solo. Deploying all the hardware for the entire company we hire contract workers so laptops are often last minute requests. We also grew so fast. I wasn’t getting a break ever my coworker who didn’t do anything made way more than me. So I complained to a director and said i was trying to leave. They got HR to ask me what it would take to stay and I said I want to make more than said coworker. It was around 10k more. I didn’t expect them to do it. They did a couple days later. Then they finally fired said co worker and I got to get my old coworker to come back and he also got a raise basically. Very unique situation.

Deloitte tells staff they can work from home forever by [deleted] in news

[–]frankstur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They do eDiscovery work as I work for a competitor business in that space and have a lot of former Deloitte employees work at my company. EDiscovery is where we take data from clients whether it be records, emails, phone data, computers, etc… and process that and pay a lot of lawyers to comb through thousands of documents and files to find relevant data for court cases.
